Prepare to get Lost in Space ... again. A TV reboot is in the works

We haven't seen the last of the classic sci-series Lost in Space. The show, which originally aired from 1965-1968, is getting a reboot, and the Robinsons are returning to the airwaves courtesy of Legendary TV and two film screenwriters.
Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, who penned Dracula Untold, have been hired to script the revamped Lost in Space. The original series was set in 1997 (very futuristic at the time) and centered on the Robinson family and their attempt to colonize deep space. Unfortunately, their mission is sabotaged and they veer off course, hence the show's title.
The series was created by Irwin Allen and starred Guy Williams, June Lockhart, Jonathan Harris and Angela Cartwright. There was a 1998 feature adaptation led by William Hurt, Gary Oldman and Matt LeBlanc. The film received less than favorable reviews, but was still a moderate box-office success, earning more than $136 million worldwide.
Lost in Space lasted three seasons, and left a major mark on genre television. There was an attempt to revive the series back in 2003, but the pilot never got off the ground. Maybe it'll have better luck this time around?
