So far Gamespots review is surprisingly spot on. Started off a bit too repetitious but gets better as you go, combat is fun but has a clunky feeling to it

I'm having a lot of fun but they need to change a few things, I don't like getting stuck at the surface during fights, if I breach the surface I should go right back down, I know they want that Jaws moment with the fin out of water but just put that on a button. I also don't think we should have to keep hitting the trigger when feeding, during a fight yea but not when eating. The camera can get crazy at times but overall it's good enough. I like the reality show style story they went with and the little comments about the trashy people in that area are funny too. I wish there was a code to play as an Orca ;)

On X1X I’ve had several hard crashes of my console. Sucks, game is really fun once you level up but wish I could get a refund

How far along are you? I haven't had any yet and I hope I don't lol

For the premise of something like this, I think it would be much more fun to unlock multiple animals than crazy ass mutations. Like random school of Pirahnas.

Or if they do a sequel include land animals like Bears.

Make a game calls Bear. You eat people with a Bear. I'd buy that sh;t.

I had so much fun with this game. Look there are a lot of issues as this game is definitely not a AAA game (every criticism in the reviews is valid, but the unique fun of the game over powered those negative). However, it totally reminds me of old games where crazy concepts were common(like crazy taxi). For all its flaws it nails the feeling of starting off as a tiny weakling and becoming a powerful force to reckon with. The game really nail the feeling at times of being a shark (arcade shark) and hunting. This game screams to be on gamepass, as the game environment today doesn't really support these type of fun diversion games. However, it shines as an interesting diversion. It has some elements of Tony Hawk as you try to collect plates in weird places, rpg elements as you build your shark, arcade fighters as you battle hunters. It is just an unique experience.

Tips: I inverted the controls and it worked so much better.

Someone, should hire this team, give them some real support and make a new Echo the Dolphin game.

Tripwire posted they the patch is having issues in QA now. 🤦‍♂️ My worst purchase this generation. Fun game but I can’t play it

Finally got it and currently level 11

It's plays fine and looks nice. Hopefully it doesn't get dull but I'm enjoying it so far

I'd like to see a game like this with were-creatures like classic werewolves, were-bears, or even were-sharks and were-gators. The human form or being humanoid making them less limited by environment or the human on land transforming halfway and being able to have a feeding frenzy on land.

I should be a game designer

I'm having a great time with this. The next gen patch is nice, but hopefully the ray tracking cooms quick.

I 100% agree with what many of you said earlier, the first few areas aren't very fun because you have so few abilities and are so weak. Once you hit "adult" status and have a handful of perks, the game becomes super fun.

Have they promised RT patch?

I see this is on sale for something like $25 on Xbox, I think I may jump on that offer. It looks like fun jumping out of the water to chomp down on tourists.

I enjoyed it. Could have done with some variety but good enough.

The series X improvement looks nice

I"m like 75% of the way done with the campaign, and have more or less 100%-ed most all of the prior areas I've unlocked. I'm worried I'm going to have 100% completion before the ray tracing patch is out. It's good mindless, low stress, fun.

Sounds like the dev is implying they're working on DLC / additional content, so I guess there should be more comping at some point.

I just got a new patch (roughly 750 MB) on XSX. I "THINK" they just added ray traced shadows, but not sure. The game definitely looks considerably better now. Maybe they just fixed lighting relating to HDR, but I'm assuming it's ray traced shadows from the looks of it. Also seems to have fixed some of the performance issues in certain locations, definitely feels closer to 60fps now.

I noticed they added a new feature where a certain section of the map is "poisoned" by Scaly Pete, and there are certain boneses and negatives of playing in that area.

No patch notes yet on either their forums or Twitter.

Weird, the patch notes says it was just localization updates for the game's launch in Asia. It seriously runs and looks noticeably better for me now. I wonder if the next gen patch somehow hadn't properly installed on my game, or the patch contained some unlisted fixes. Either way, still no ray tracing.

On sale now, might bite (lol?).
Next gen update impressions?

The resolution and frame rate are both great now. HDR looks really nice too, some of the areas are really pretty under the water (tons of colorful vegetation and fish). I've had a lot of fun with it. I'm forcing myself to not play it because I'd like to wait for the ray tracking patch before finishing the last few areas. They're still providing updates to the game every 2 or 3 weeks, and keep mentioning they have some DLC content coming.

It's good dumb fun. If you're a fan of the Jaws movies or sharks in general, you'll have fun causing massive havoc.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays, by the way!!

I liked it. Not a game you can play for hours and hours without getting bored but still fun in short spells
