During the press coverage of Ant-Man and The Wasp last year, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige stated that the studio was working towards bringing a new, LGBTQ character to the mix in the near future. As it turns out, that future is nearly upon us as the studio searches for an actor, 30-49, who “physically looks like a superhero” for one of the film’s leads. While the studio is open to actors of all ethnicity, they would prefer the role to go to an openly gay actor.

Over the past several years, Marvel Studios has made an impressive effort to make films more representative of the modern world and this is another example of them making good on that. This role will mark the first time Marvel Studios has featured an openly gay male as a lead as this character will have a major presence in the film alongside the other leads expected to be Sersi, Ikaris and “Piper.” The studio is going to great lengths to keep the identity of the character a secret and it would take away from the focus of this piece to speculate on the identity of the character her.

Luke Evans? (Dracula Untold)

He was also Zeus in The Immortals, so he's kinda got cred leading a super powered team.

NOTE: also kinda funny he shows up here to bail out Henry Cavill (Theseus)

Have gay characters but don't do the whole look at us bit cause it makes it seem like that's the only reason you did it.

What do you guys know about the Eternals please? Asking for a ‘friend’
Someone told me, it’s re as massive for Marvel fans but I’ve never heard of it. But for hardcore comic fans it’s a big deal!
My “friend’ might be working on it.

So any of you ‘marvel/comic book’ fans know anything about this please? Looks like this will take over the Avengers in the MCU.

Sounds about right, from what Kevin Feige said about “going cosmic” after end game, does your friend need an assistant? :)

The Eternals were one of two sub races created from humans by the Celestials. They were meant to be like them, near perfect beings, whilst the other known as Deviants were like the Morlocks, disfigured and living underground.

Thanos is an Eternal but born with the Deviant appearance.

Thank you. Will have a look at this. Cheers 👍🏻
Is the Eternals popular or more for the hardcore fans?

I never got into reading comics as a kid, but they seem like a pretty big deal, just not at the forefront like X-men or Spider-Man, sorry, I’m not the best source to get info on this... this may help

Was Thanos gay? No kids so had to adopt Gamora?

Life's work to assemble Rainbow Jewel Glove of doom?

Same could be said about wrestling, a varied set of over dramatic guys in stylish poses and designer outfits walking down a catwalk of onlookers to fight over a shiny belt... just saying :p

You never know, people thought Guardians of the Galaxy was gonna be their first flop, similar things were said with Captain Marvel (few folk here said it’d bomb)....there biggest flop was the Inhumans, and will probably never see them x into the MCU

True...I honestly thought Gotg was going to flop. Captain marvel I was sure a hit, by that time it didn't seem a marvel movie tied to avengers could be anything but a cash cow... but, I sincerely dislike brie as captain marvel and feel it the worst casting this far (they've been pretty great otherwise).
I still feel this looks like crap, but I've been wrong before (except when it comes to pinning resolutions of xbox one x games).

It is a very big movie. It is a very expensive movie. And we are making it because we believe in [director Chloé Zhao’s] vision and we believe in what those characters can do and we believe we need to continue to grow and evolve and change and push our genre forward, that’s a risk if I’ve ever heard one.
