I was actually quite addicted to the planet scanning in ME2. What I missed from the first the most was all the equipment micromanagement. I spent so much time just on the perfect load out for my Sheppard. Then they dumbed it down and I felt like I lost an important connection with my character.

I could never muster up the courage to finish 3 after everything I heard about the ending. Id rather it just not end then end badly.

Yeah, I didn't like it very much, but did it anyway. Wasn't a big fan of the planet exploring in the first one either. It could get really boring at times. I can just say that I had a tolerance for the scanning and hacking. Although I did very much enjoy hacking. Kinda like in the first Bioshock, where you had that pipe minigame every time you hacked. Good stuff for me.

My god Bioware make this so!

 yes!

Needs more exploration and to use the ship for more than just a fast travel hub. It's been 3 iterations and long due to have ship combat and interesting encounters in space. And for the love of all things RPG, fix that lousy shared/limited weapon selection. There should be unique weapons and gadgets and other items not just some lame presets that level up.

I hope we see a Fallout 4 before this game though. That's the next big thing I want to see from Bioware.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that if Bioware puts out a Fallout game, the folks at Bethesda won't be all too pleased about it.

 Crap, I always get those 2 mixed up. Disregard that post.

Picked up the Omega DLC a while back when it was on half price and only just got round to playing it. Now while its nothing but gun play it does have a darker story than the series is used to so it would be nice for a bit more of that.

They also need to focus on less characters. Replaying 3 its sad how many squad members have bit parts in this.

I'd like to see them open it up a bit. Make it more open world this time around.

Agreed, and I could see this happening. Seems to be where a lot of games are headed this gen - big open worlds.

Most you might get is like the first game only this time more variety in the word designs unless of course it does become a straight up gears clone

That's good. I don't need more Shepard-related stuff at this point, and the series needs a reboot. I'm not sure whether I'd like it to be set in the past or future (relative to Shepard). Either is fine, I suppose.

I was actually talking about this with my friends this past weekend. All pretty much agreed the new story should be unrelated or at least only related slightly. The Shepard story was great, but it's time to move on. It's a big galaxy.

I wouldn't mind a prequel if it were set far enough back in time, like when humans were first encountering Prothean technology and other races.

But its one of those things. If you checked up in the games codex you know how it turns out. Same with the Prothean war[and who wants another war with the Reapers?].

My guess is it will be set in a area that has yet to discover the Mass Relays.

I enjoyed Mass Effect pretty much all the way through. The ending left a bad taste in my mouth, though. The entire point of playing through three games with the same character was supposed to be Shepard + Liara = blue babies. Bioware disappointed.

I'm willing to get over it since the next Mass Effect game will presumably be starring a new character. As long as Bioware doesn't f*** the ending of this one up too, I'll be happy.

I didn't pay close attention to the codex and the history, so it would probably be a surprise to me. But I guess that might be a problem for the hardcore fans who memorize this stuff... Still, I can't believe there isn't some aspect of the history that hasn't already been laid out.

So a non-human race then?

You and your blue baby fixation...

Hopefully, they don't make that mistake a second time. I would be very surprised if they do.

It should have been the natural conclusion of the Liara romance. I mean, that's what we Asari-obsessed ME fans have been expecting since the original Mass Effect.

Hopefully, they don't make that mistake a second time. I would be very surprised if they do.

I think if they botched another Mass Effect ending, EA would have a fit. Remember how they went into damage-control mode last time?

Oh yeah. It would be a huge mess, if they screwed up the ending again. Don't worry, I'm sure that this time, they'll screw up in an entirely new and unexpected way.

For those that worked hard enough you should have been able to get a good ending. You should also have been able to get and dire ending that sees everyone wasted.

Te fact the 3 endings use the same clips for most of the time was just :smash:

I do wonder how they would go about that, though. They would need a good excuse for them having the player stay on one big open planet for the majority of the game.

Well I don't think it'd have to be only 1 world, but definitely wouldn't include as many as we have seen in the past I would think.

If Bioware hadn't been so lazy The Quarians should have looked like this[or something like it]

my_wife__s_tali_zorah_redesign_in_3d_by_nebezial-d4szlc0.jpg

During my first play Tali was my Shepards LI and man did they drop the ball with the reveal.

Lazy? Yes, it was.

And it's a shame, because she was a terribly sweet character.

Word. If only they had put even 1/10th as much into the ending as they did with the resolution of the Geth/Quarian conflict (in as general terms as possible to avoid spoilers), it would have been awesome. When I think about all the stuff BioWare said about decisions having consequences and it being my universe, etc., that situation was the absolute high point of the series, only to be pissed on by the ending. :(
