Unless they have some other event planned, I feel like MS needs to show some good reasons for people to buy an X, like some good MP CD3 gameplay with full destruction.

Microsoft bringing Xbox One X, Age of Empires to Gamescom 2017

Microsoft’s plans for Gamescom include the expected heavy focus on the Xbox One X, as well as a celebration of Age of Empires’ 20th anniversary, the company announced today.

Gamescom itself doesn’t open its doors until Tuesday, Aug. 22, but Microsoft is kicking things off on Sunday the 20th. Starting at noon PDT (9 p.m. local time in Germany), the company will broadcast a live show with “news and announcements on Xbox One X.”

It doesn’t sound like this will be a typical E3-style theater event, but an online-only streaming show instead. Expect developer interviews and live demos from hosts Graeme Boyd of Xbox U.K. and Maxi Graeff of Xbox Germany
. We’ve asked Microsoft for further details, and we’ll update this article with any information we receive.

The next day, Aug. 21, Microsoft will run another livestream at the same time, noon PDT, for the Age of Empires franchise. The original Age of Empires launched 20 years ago this October, and at E3 last month, Microsoft announced that it is remastering the game as Age of Empires: Definitive Edition for Windows PC. During the livestream, Microsoft will show off the Definitive Edition for the first time, and the show will also feature developers who have worked on the franchise over the years.

Age of Empires fans will be able to attend the livestream in person. For people who are general Xbox fans, Microsoft is doing its usual FanFest at Gamescom starting Aug. 22. Once the show floor opens to the public on Wednesday, Aug. 23, Gamescom attendees will be able to play “a wide collection of the games coming to Xbox over the next 12 months” on the Xbox One X.

Eh! Not expecting much. AOE is PC olnly. CD3 looked s*** and don't care how good the destruction is now.

Not expecting any big game announcements. Maybe lame DLC exclusivity and more indie stuff.

Wow......how you can say it looks s*** based on what expectation you had? Quantify your statement please as I'm intrigued to what standard the new Crackdown didn't meet your expectations....

I know your question isn't directed at me, but in my opinion, the game looks like arse.

Without the destruction, the gameplay shown looks pedestrian, with poor AI, s***ty graphics with a lack of direction in regards to styling (seriously. If your going picking cel shading go balls to the wall.) And some the environmental interaction is non existent.

Clinging to a few ledges? Throwing a few cabinets?

We live in a world with Ass Creed, Red Faction is a decade and a half old, GTA5 rules it's kingdom, and Jet Set Radio/Sunset Overdrive have happened.

Really, people shouldn't hold out for some surprise announcement. What they need to do is show a sh*t ton of the games getting the 4K treatment/updates.

Quantify? lol. I can easily say it looks s*** cause we saw it and it looked s***. Looked bland, out dated and seems more like a low tier AA game at best.

And my expectations were very low to begin with.

had a dream last night and Yu Susuki and Phil Spencer announced shenmue 3 for Xbox one and shenmue 1&2 HD remaster at gamescom.

Just want to see that cloud power on Crackdown 3. With great power comes great responsibility. Really hope they didn't just cut it out of the game and sweep it under the rug.

Thank you for quantifying with us.

My Gamescom hopes are simple. Crackdown 3 multiplayer demonstrates the physics from 2 years ago, I'm happy and Crackdown is a day 1 purchase. If not, I'll be bitching. Microsoft has to learn how to follow through on 1st/2nd party stuff again.

They have been doing great so far.

^^^ is it smart/easier of ea (or for any other dev) doing ww1 instead of ww2 games and prompting it in Germany?

Yeah, I think these days it's pretty much illegal or at least impossible to sell games with Nazi imagery anywhere except a Trump rally.

Got the email from the MS Store: "Tune in to Xbox at gamescom for exciting Xbox One X pre-order details." You get the Ron Paul gif, I'm too busy cranking it.

would be awesome if they showed a new perfect dark.. But that would probably be something shown at a e3
