Microsoft Build keynote: Join us Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. PT
http://www.cnet.com/news/microsoft-build-keynote-join-us-wednesday-at-830-a-m-pt-live-blog/

Microsoft's last CEO Steve Ballmer was famously all about the developers, and now Satya Nadella will get the chance to show his coder chops by kicking off his company's 2014 Build conference. Build is a three-day series of sessions and education for devs, aimed at getting them up to speed on what's new in Windows, Windows Phone, Xbox -- and anything else.

Microsoft has scheduled an epic three-hour keynote to kick things off and we'll be there live for the full presentation, bringing you every piece of news worth noting as it happens. We'll have live video from the event as well, including live analysis. And, since Amazon's event will be going on at the same time, look for some video coverage from there, too, featuring Brian Tong, Donald Bell, and Ashley Esqueda.

Again, the event starts at 8:30am PT. Check your local time zone, and then set your bookmarks below to join in the live-blogging fun.

It looks like Microsoft is refining it’s tagline of code once, run everywhere to “Build once, engage everywhere” which reflects their new approach to putting their software on many different platforms. We are willing to bet that this theme will be quite prevalent in tomorrow's keynote as Satya Nadella takes the stage for his first BUILD keynote as CEO.

The one picture I saw of a possible Win 9 desktop looked pretty nice.

What we're going to enable is your universal Windows applications running on the Xbox

The universal Windows app allows users to implement and tweak code from a single interface that can be reused across several platforms. According to Myerson, the feature will not be available in "the next few days or the next few weeks," but said that the company simply wanted to share the news.

Microsoft's new universal Windows apps run everywhere, from phones to the Xbox One

Quote:

Microsoft is introducing universal Windows apps, a way for developers to create a single app that works across Windows phones, tablets, PCs, and the Xbox One. "All of us want the same app experiences across all devices," David Treadwell, a Microsoft operating system executive said while introducing the new type of apps. "Yet today there’s no easy way to create apps that work across all form factors."

Neither of the links you gave in this post worked - and couldn't see those on the frontpage of the verge and polygon. :-/
The quotes from the keynote you referred to made it seem more that it would be easier to create ports across the platforms, due to a more unified design - not cross-platform sales. :-/
Were cross-platform sales mentioned in the articles? :)
