I guess we will see more at the inside Xbox event next week, the bottom of the page states “NEXT UPDATE – 05.07”

Hands down the best looking game I’ve ever seen if these shots are representative of the final product.

there’s videos and alpha tid bits

NEXT UPDATE – 05.14

I'm really interested... I'll tell you what I really want though, is a goofy Pilotwings sh@t, like an expansion. Same realistic physics and weather. A spinoff with skydiving, jetpacks, futuristic flying cars, whatever. I feel like this engine could be a playground [pun intended].

hopefully they’ll support mods, seeing as there’s gonna be an app (that’s currently in beta) for mods on Xbox.

Mods would be really nice, but I'd like to see a more official release, similar to Minecraft Dungeons or Forza Horizon, but more playful.

Was this announced for Series X? I thought it was PC only?

Unless something changed, the PC version is coming out first with Xbox to follow.

I still have no idea how that game is going to run on modern PCs let alone an OG Xbox1. I run Xplane 11 on my solid PC rig and it looks nothing like that and I still struggle for 40 fps.

Apparently you can pre-load this now on PC. There's still no official release date, which is kind of odd.

Ok this is great. But I need the Xbox version, thanks!

I'm assuming they're waiting for Series X to release it on consoles?

That makes sense, although they claim it will run on an OG Xbox1. Although I'll believe that when I see it.

Seeing as this is coming to PC in August, a release on Series X this fall/winter seems realistic.

I thought it relied heavily on the cloud. So maybe it would work with the Xbox One S IF you mandated online connection the entire time to use "the power of the cloud"?

Well, they are definitely doing things like loading ground textures on the fly, but that's more of a hard disk saving thing than a performance thing. There's no point installing hi-res textures for the entire globe, as I understand, they'll just grab the area you are currently flying in.

They still need to render all that stuff on the local hardware. We'll see though.

I've got gamepass for PC, so I'll give it a try and see how it runs on my nearly 3 year old gaming PC.

I thought they would have held this announcement until next week. Must be very confident in what they're going to show and/or they have alot to show. Flight Sim isn't my thing but I've got to try this out as it looks so good.

Not mine either, but it will be downloaded day one on Series X and I'll play the hell out of it.

It streams in world data in real time as well as real time weather and plane locations. That being said the 'recommended' specs for this game are pretty generous and include a gtx 970. The preferred specs however include a 2080.
