So, tons of clickbait and misinformation. All we're getting tomorrow is a release date for a patch.

I'm pretty sure they said a patch was coming originally, but the page has probably been edited.

I’ll wait for this...been meaning to install it, but I hear it has some bugs of varying degrees

I've been able to get around the problems for the most part. The big one is making sure every joystick is plugged in before and watch things that go to sleep (wireless controllers and keyboards).

Hopefully by next week the patch is out and has some of this stuff fixed.

The sim shows so much progress. I was buzzing around NYC in the floatplane and just landing in the water next to the city. It is crazy how detailed the game is. Even the accuracy of local landmarks is amazing. There's a tiny race track by my house, a little 5/8s track tucked away in the middle of nowhere, and that was well modeled.

I have a growing list of places I want to visit, the list grows faster than I can get to them.

For anyone looking for a good screenshot program, this one is super simple. Just hit the print screen button when this is running and it will save screenshots into a selected folder. Just download and run the .exe. No clunky install. It was written for FSX, so don't check any of the FS specific features yet, but the scree capture works great. Just hit the print screen button and you don't even have to pause the sim.

Another crash at the end of a long flight. Getting really annoying and this one wasn't joystick related. Sadly I might have to shelve this for a bit, getting too frustrating. The GPS and ATC are just not working properly either, and the weather engine isn't quite right either.

Yeah. There are definitely some annoying bugs. The other day I handed takeoff rotation to my co-pilot. The guy flew me into a row of trees. Not just once but twice...
Also had unexplained deceleration into a nearly unrecoverable spin due to AI co-pilot and various other suicidal maneuvers. Auto-pilot in the Airbus also needs some work.
The other day I set the nav points. Entered them into the computer. Altitude, airspeed, etc. Gave it over to autopilot at 29,000 feet. 6 hour flight to Dubai. Went and did some stuff around the house, took a nap. Went back to my computer and come to find out autopilot had crashed into a mountain..

The big flaw I am seeing is that the controls are just way too twitchy. A 172 shouldn't handle like a fighter plane. It should be relatively easy to fly and trim. Everything has to be flown with pinpoint control, and it really shouldn't feel like that. I'm turning down my sensitivities and it is still too much. I think that gives the autopilot the same fits.

Hopefully they can fix it over time. I haven't even tried anything bigger than a GA plane. Even the G1000 is pretty buggy. Got my crash just trying to load an approach. The ATC also is completely clueless.

"The latest patch is available for download at 1700Z (10am PDT) today. To install the patch, simply close Microsoft Flight Simulator and relaunch. However, if you have experienced installation issues, we strongly advise you to do a clean install of Microsoft Flight Simulator by following the steps below:

How to Uninstall MSFS on Steam:

Once uninstalled, check to make sure all files are deleted. If you have game files in a different directory than where the app is installed by default (C: drive) uninstalling the game will not delete those files.

I know this game is mainly a PC game and typically a niche genre . But could this be a system seller on Series X?

It is possible, I've seen lots of casuals on Youtube just flying around looking at the scenery DrDisrespect even took a break from his usual FPS games to try.

Still a hard sell long term though for anyone not really interested in aviation. Flying around looking at your house would only last so long.

If you ever wanted to see the anti-MS bias in action, this article, in my very humble personal opinion, is the epitome of it.

They actually compare the technology that renders the scenery to the Stadia.

Again, just my personal opinion that anyone is free to not listen to, but this kind of garbage pisses me off.

Zero mention of how you can download data offline (many people do that now for better performance) and no mention about how downloading every inch of earth would be impossible.

I mean its Kotaku. I'm not expecting any kind of integrity or fact checking from them.

It isn't just one sided, it is just a total hit piece. They act like this is the first game to rely on an online server. I mean, Destiny and a ton of other games "die" if the servers go down, but nobody seems to say a thing about it.

To me, it comes down to "it is Microsoft so it is bad, so let's make it bad".

There are bad reviews. that one veered into nonsensical territory.

FSEconomy is a neat site if you're looking for more purpose in flying. You can rent/buy aircraft and then fly assignments for money (instead of just flying randomly).

It is free, but sometimes it takes time to get an account activated. Unfortunately they've had tons of problems with hackers, not sure why as none of the money is real.

A new patch hopefully within 10 days (putting final testing on now)
