MS Surface

Still can't find any release date for studio in the U.K.
Got a feeling that a new iMac is on the horizon, but I love that you can draw on the screen of the studio, for after effects and photoshop etc this will be fantastic (masking, rotoscoping, clone tool etc)
I honestly don't know what to do now lol as I have a feeling the next iMac will have killer specs, prob why they are holding off to see what MS throws in the ring.
Surface is years ahead of what the iMac will be tech advancement wise. If you're no beholden to a platform, Surface Studio is it for creative individuals.

I use after effects, premiere pro, Final Cut Pro, photoshop, adobe animate and blender to name a few so I am leaning towards the studio plus I think Adobe software works better with nvidia cards.

ok on second thoughts, although the surface studio looks amazing, i have read that actually its not that powerful, and has quite old tech inside, so i might give this a miss.
like i said above, because of the software i use and i LOVE apple computers, unfortunately blender and certain adobe software runs much better on nividia cards and like you guys know, apple use AMD so i am in a sticky situation.
i was going to get the mac pro, but again although its very powerful it still uses AMD so i think i am going to get a windows PC for the first time in years. (the last one i got was windows XP :surprise:)

what do you guys think of this build please, i know i could build one myself but i dont want the hassle lol

this seems very powerful but a quick question, someone advised me (re using blender) DONT get a PC with 2 GPU's that have SLI option but looking at the specs of this, it says 2 way SLI (on the titan X 12gb x 2 model) will this be ok does anyone know please?
sorry as like i said, i aint looked at a PC in years and of course as well as my after effects, editing and 3D work, i won't be shy at using this system for gaming lol
re the asus system i don't know when its released in the UK so this was another option i was looking at -

a bit of a stupid question here guys, like i said i have never bought a PC system with dual GFX cards, so if the computer has 2 x 12gb nvidia cards for e.g., does this mean it will have 24gb total for pushing graphics in games and software etc or is it not that simple?
i guess it means this but wanted to check with guys that know.

edit - i think i get this now, so the SLI acts as a bridge combining the 2 cards and making them combine their power so 8gb + 8gb = 16gb in total, is that right?

i read that SLI aint good for using blender but looks like its easier to turn on/off in the nvidia control panel.
anyone use dual cards SLI please and if so, is it easy to turn off said function?

I did see that.
I find it strange that the base model is 4 gigs but the OS is windows 10s which you can install from the windows store. Unless you upgrade to pro and then you can install any apps.

I don't think this is for the home use but for students that can go to school and have a really good core OS with apps from that store to run only on those laptops. The battery is crazy good.

I think this laptop will suffer if you go Pro with this unit.

Agreed. It seems like a good product for students. I'm out of the laptop loop but for what they're offering is $999 reasonable?

Great, with Apple Air Pods looking like cum earrings from Something About Mary, now people will look like they have gauges in the middle of their ears. Horrible design.

For the windows phone fans who miss live tiles like myself, iOS 14 is going to have live tile look alikes lol. Also, hell of a bump by me!

2 weeks ago my wife picked up the new Surface Laptop 5. It has Windows 11 on it (first time I have used Windows 11). It's not bad, but my 2022 MacBook Air is still better.

I still have my surface laptop 2 and love it. Had it for a few years now. Bring it to work and home and will remote to work from it. Gets the job done.
