Save for a MGS5 demo on saturday, I have little interest in the TGS.

But, I've never been a huge fan of japanese games in general. (Dragons Dogma rules though)

Yes, it seems TGS appeal is fading with the decrease of console game development in Japan.

WTF? I thought TGS was in October.

Wait,so did MS announced ANYTHING at TGS?

It's the exact same footage as the "PS4" version. Not same mission, but rather the EXACT same walkthrough, they simply changed the button prompts. And at one point they forgot to change one of the button prompts from L2 to LT =\

Ketto, went to the link mate and had the page translated to Engrish, but where is the link to watch the actual footage on the page?

You have to make an account to view the video (or login with Facebook).

so it's basically a replay with the prompts edited?

Appears to be, though GAF is saying it's a live gameplay but the guy playing is so good he can apparently recreate everything he did in the PS4 demonstration including hesitation in aiming.

Most of us here already know what system we’re going to buy. Hell, most have probably already scheduled a day off, or week off, from work to play a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One all . . . day/week . . . long. What if you’re one of the rare few that are still on the fence? How should you decide? Here are some ways to look at the decision process to help you come to a conclusion.

System features

Which system has the features you want and need, and which does them better? PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will both play games and they’ll both play games well. They’ll both have a suite of media apps such as Netflix, Hulu, HBOGo, etc.; both systems offer mid-game pausing and switching to another app. The Xbox One allows you to play a game in a smaller window while another app is snapped to it while both are playing at the same time. It’s not just a game and an app. It can be two apps. On one app you can have your live TV feed of a Sunday NFL game, then you can snap your fantasy football app to it, and watch how your team is progressing throughout the day. Keep it on NFL Redzone for the ultimate fantasy football experience.

If you’re a gamer, the PlayStation keeps the focus on the game. You can multitask but not at the same time. There are times when I just want to focus on the game, such as long bouts of CoD. I don’t want to have to deal with other apps or screens on at the same time. While I can just only have the Xbox One full screen with the game, the PlayStation 4 forces me to do that. It’s nice to have the Xbox One option of snapping, but I find myself watching a movie or TV show and not paying much attention to it because I’m too busy looking at my iPad or phone. PlayStation 4 removes that temptation, though I still have my iPad on the coffee table. I think I multitask too much.

Speaking of iPad…

I really liked Microsoft’s use of their SmartGlass app for iOS devices with the Xbox 360. It worked really well and I used it often as a companion. While SmartGlass is a great little app, and Microsoft is expanding it with the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 shines in this area if you have a PlayStation Vita. Say your wife, or significant other, wants to use the TV but you’re in the middle of a game. How dare they! Don't they know you're about to beat your best time in Drive Club? Well, in those times of ultimate inconsideration, simply turn on the Vita and start using Remote Play. The Vita then becomes your TV screen without saving or turning off anything. Now, your significant other can enjoy the newest episode of Mob Wives while you can continue to play your game.

Games

This is all personal taste, but it gets extremely hard to make a decision if you’re mostly a multiplatform player like myself. If you love Halo, and it’s your favorite series of all-time, and you can’t live without it, you’re sticking with Xbox One. If God of War is your lord and savior, you’re sticking with PlayStation 4. As of right now, multiplatform titles appear to be neck and neck on both systems graphics wise. The Xbox One has a bit of an edge with having a stockade of dedicated servers at the disposal of developers if they choose to utilize them. For example, Call of Duty: Ghosts will be using dedicated servers on the Xbox One, where as of right now, it will only be P2P on the PlayStation 4.

Screw multiplatform games, what about those exclusive launch games, man?

Day one exclusive launch titles for the Xbox One are (excluding indies):
Forza 5 Dead Rising 3
Ryse
Killer Instinct
Crimson Dragon

Day one exclusive launch titles for the PlayStation 4 are (excluding indies):
Drive Club
Killzone: Shadow Fall
Knack
Resogun

Both offer a little of the same and also some variety.

Hardware

On paper the PlayStation 4 outclasses the Xbox One in brute force. Microsoft has come out, though in pieces, and have stated reasons why the hardware gap isn’t as far apart as it seems. I’m not going to get into that because it’s been causing e-fights across the video game world between fanboys and I don't want to cause anymore.

The Xbox One is only supposed to be used flat. Using it vertically is done at your own risk. That’s annoying and Microsoft should have thought about this further when they designed it. The PlayStation 4 can be used in either orientation. Both systems look good but I’ll give the edge to the Xbox One here. I love the two tone look of the system and it reminds me of the awesome Harman Kardon electronics which I think are beautiful.

Controller wise, if you’re familiar with both controllers then you have a preference. The DualShock 4 added a touch pad that developers have been asking for which should be great for navigating menus. The gorgeous game, Infamous: Second Son, is incorporating it through out. You can use it to simulate fingerprint scanning and grabing and holding items as long as you have your finger on the touch pad. Battery is built into the controller to power it. You can use a USB cable to power it. It does not support AA's. My Eneloops are sad.

The Xbox One’s controller adds vibration to the triggers for feedback. As you accelerate in Forza 5 the rumble in the triggers will increase. The bane of all fighting game fans, the Xbox 360’s d-pad, seems to be improved. Miscrosoft went digital this time ‘round. Please let it be usable for Street Fighter! PLEASE!!! The batter pack now sits flush to the underside rather than bulging out. You can use a battery pack, USB cable or rechargeable AA's. I'm stock full of Eneloops.

Kinect, people love it, people hate it, people just use it. I’m in the camp of 'I will just be using it.' The RF shotgun blast is pretty cool. It shoots out RF signals to all of your devices so they all turn on at the same time when you say “Kinect On.” Forget about all of the tinfoil hat nonsense of the government spying on you through Kinect. It won’t happen. But, because there were still concerns, Microsoft has now made it an option to have Kinect plugged in. So, if you still have concerns about Obama spying on you in your underwear while you're playing Battlefield 4 in your tighties, you can unplug it. Kinect will also make a great video Skyping tool.

Sony choose to give people the option and their camera add-on is not bundled and needs to be purchased separately.

Price

The PlayStation 4 at $399 is $100 cheaper than the Xbox One at $499. The price difference is basically the Xbox One comes with Kinect and the PlayStation 4 doesn’t come with any camera. That’s easiest and simplest way to describe the price differences between them both. There's nothing really more to the price.

I hope the above helped you with your decision with which console to purchase if you’re still on the fence. If you need more help in deciding, the community will be more than willing to help you with the decision. Feel free to stop by our forums.

Writers Note: To dispel any lingering concerns about digital rights management (DRM) on the Xbox One, the Xbox One console no longer has the restrictive (DRM) that people had taken an issue with following E3. Games can now be played on any Xbox One console, at any time, so long as you have the disk in the console you'll be playing it on. There are no restrictions beyond that. All Xbox One disk-based games can be sold and traded in freely without restrictions.

We've waited a while for the release date for South Park: The Stick of Truth. So here it is, December 10th! The game drops on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It's available for pre-order now. Ubisoft also announced there will be a Grand Wizard Edition that will retail for $79.99 for all three platforms. The Grand Wizard Edition comes with the game, a Grand Wizard Cartman 6" Kidrobot Figure, Kingdom of South Park Map and The Stick of Truth Ultimate Fellowship Pack.

While December seems a long way away, it'll be here before you know it, here's a new trailer to tide you over.

I am going with both consoles, with the X1 at launch. I will be delaying my PS4 purchase until closer to Christmas. I have enough bills right now as it is, and Driveclub is the only game I want on the PS4 right now anyway. Not to mention, I will have to get PSN Plus as well. It all adds up!

Starting with the Xbox One in November. Probably pick up the ps4 next year early enough.

For the first time in my life, I'm not seeing the value in getting a next generation console at launch. I'll probably end up caving when the next Batman game is announced... and hold my decision making until then. Both consoles seem fairly pedestrian, though the PS4 seems less repulsive from a "Hardware and DRM" perspective.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II fans. You have a Playstation 3 or a PC? Well, now you have DLC to go and get. Activision and Treyarch have released the Apocalypse DLC-4 for CoD:BOII on the PlayStation 3 and PC. This DLC is more robust than the ones in the past in my opinion. It can be had for $14.99 on both the PS3 and PC, the same price as the Xbox 360 DLC.

If you haven't played the game and finished it this will spoil it for you. If you have, or at the least already know the ending enjoy the "Alternate," ending for the game, The Last of Us.
