Mini-Review/Backlog Destruction Thread

Finished Opus Echo of Starsong as it is leaving Game Pass today. It was a SLOG to get through and the payoff wasn't worth it. Do not recommend.

I finished two games out of my backlog this weekend.

Cyberpunk 2077 + Phantom Liberty - Great. Really enjoyed what the DLC added to the game. A true classic open world game now that is well worth a new playthrough.

AC Mirage - ok. I liked the throwback to stealth action. The story was kind of weird and didn't really pull me in. Still fun.

After about a month and an estimated 70 hours or so of gameplay I just finished playing Morrowind. I realize I'm a couple decades late here, but don't sleep on this game just because it's from 2002 - it's so good!

Next up I'm going to be playing The Evil Within 2 to finish up that series.

I've been playing Coral Island. Its a straight rip off of Stardew Valley but in #D but I don't care. I'm enjoying it immensely. I might buy it when it leave Gamepass.

I mean is Stardew Valley a rip off of Harvest Moon. Coral Island on GP? I’ll have to try it out. I have Stardew on XB and Switch love it.

Oh most definitely about Stardew Valley. Its the best rip off of Harvest Moon Ever. Coral Island is on gamepass. And I only started it because I took Stardew on PC as far as I could take it. I will say with Coral they try to overwhelm you early. Like I just finished the Spring season and accomplished very little.

Just finished The Evil Within 2 on Nightmare difficulty. The game is a much different experience than the first - less brutal, a bit less survival horror; but it's still very good in its own right. I usually hate when games add open world concepts, but I thought it was done perfectly here.

Next up I'm going to go through Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2 so I can be done with that series.

Finished Star Wars Force Unleashed 2. Quick game, but was still pretty fun.

Next up I'm going to go through Scorn. I hear it's a little rough around the edges but looks like something I would enjoy, plus it's supposed to be short and it's on Game Pass.

It is not the worse things that can happened. but sucks nevertheless. Lete see how everything goes.

I don't do a lot of posting anymore, mostly just in this thread. But I still lurk from time to time. But thanks!

I'm stubbornly still working on Coral Island. Damn near dropped everything for this little farm sim.

Scorn was actually a pretty good ride. Took me about 6 hours taking my time. The atmosphere, graphics, and sound are excellent. The story is driven heavily by symbolism, but even if you don't follow it 100% (like me) it's still worth the experience. Puzzles are interesting and never prohibitive. Combat is poor (maybe even intentionally) and missing some quality of life stuff that would make it a lot better but definitely worth my time.

Next up I'm going to finish up the Darksiders series with Darksiders Genesis.

FYI Genesis is fun as a solo game but doubly so in co-op.

Bright Memory 2/5

Very short (less than 2hrs on normal) and some ugly character models but fun gameplay though it has a pointless stealth section.

Usually on offer. Not worth the standard £16 asking price. Feels like it would have been a tech demo but it's from a Indi studio(1 person).

Added a ton of games today:
PC:
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden
Granblue Fantasy: Relink
Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition
Prince of Persia The Lost Crown
Star Ocean The 2nd Story R
Ghost of Tshima ( Pre-order)

Xbox
Unicorn Overlord

When I am I going to play any of these titles? 🤷‍♂️

Maybe when I finally stop playing Coral Island.

I'm really enjoying Prince of Persia The Lost Crown. Platforming, puzzles and combat are very well done. Ubisoft isn't going to get enough credit for this one at end of the year awards..

I’m finally going to try and tackle more of my backlog, as there’s not a lot coming out that I’m interested in at the moment.

Just finished Banishers Ghosts of New Eden. Fantastic experience! One of my favorites this generation, as it has a great story and gameplay, but is also pretty user friendly with frequent checkpoints, unlimited ammo, and skippable cutscenes and dialogue. Feels like the developers wanted me to have fun, which is too rare nowadays!!

Next up I’m going to finish the Destroy All Humans 2 Remake and then maybe jump back into Cyberpunk.

I just purchased Banishers Ghosts of New Eden on a sale. I intend to start it after I finish Prince of Persia. Glad to hear positive experiences with the game.

After getting that Fallout itch (two episodes in the show is awesome!) I’m finally giving Fallout 76 a fair shot.

Will dive back into Fallout 4 when the new update hits in two weeks.
They seems to turn the game around after the bad launch.

And just like that I'm done with Price of Persia. Very good game. Really hearkens back to the original games with the platforming and puzzles. The last boss tho. My God he's a pain in the ass. Huge difficulty spike and its a multi stage fight. Other than that I have nothing bad to say about the game.

And that's it for me for the Darksiders series, unless of course they ever release a 4. Would really like it if they did as I've thoroughly enjoyed all of these games. Genesis was way better than I thought it'd be and is up there for one of my favorites.

Next up I'm going to start the Fable series. I played 2 way back in high school but never played the 1st or 3rd. Now I want to try and get through them all before 4 comes out, starting with Fable Anniversary.

I enjoy the Fable Trilogy, wish we got a remaster.

Decided on playing Chorus next instead of Destroy All Humans. It’s a really fun flight action game. Thats not usually the type of game I’m interested in, but the flying mechanics are unique and a blast. Story is decent as well.
