Mini-Review/Backlog Destruction Thread

Psychonauts 2 5/5

Really enjoyed that and it's overtaken Hitman 3 as my GOTY.

Well written and did a really good job on its subject that was able to be both sensitive and funny.
Controlled great and I liked the art style and the music is great.
Great voice acting as well.
It's one of those games I've enjoyed enough to want to 100%
Nice! Did you play through the first game? I never got around to it and wonder if I’m missing much by just watching the recap.

Also, I really wish the Hitman games would click for me. I’m just not good at finding different assassination methods without turning on the guidance settings, but that also feels like cheating in a way

Didn't get round to playing the first again but didn't feel like I missed much. The game nicely reminds you of key stuff throughout the game.

It took me 2 months and about 38 hours of game time but finally beat Dragon Age 2. Wouldn't have taken me so long but I moved in the middle of it so I didn't have a lot of gaming time for a while.

Overall I enjoyed it but I think I had more fun playing Origins. Excited to play Inquisition but going to hold off on that for a little while and switch it up.

On to Kingdom Hearts 2 next

Inquisition is ungodly long if you decided to tackle every single quests. A good portion of them are filler fetch quests. To get the most out of it and respect your time, stick with the main story and compainion quests. However when you get to the dlc expansions, do every thing.

I got over 100 hours out of the game, & still had lots of quests to do. But once i beat the main questline, the motivation to push on was gone. But I got 100s hours & I have no complains. Thoughly enjoyed the experience.

Yesterday I wanted to play a bit of Psychonauts but it was 10pm when I was done with work, so I just chill & watch some videos instead.

I actually got to play a lot over the past week, between simming through My Team mode in F1 2021 (all I have to actually drive is Qualifying and after I won the driver/constructor titles in year 3, I switched to one-shot), plus dumping a lot of time into Hades and just started Twelve Minutes the other night. And Psychonauts 2 is out now? Crazy.
Finished up 12 minutes (mostly, some achievements I didn't get), and been playing the crap out of Hades.

I recently played and beat Inquisition, finally 7 years after purchasing it.

Loved it. Play the DLC too. Think I came close to 90 hours of playtime.

12 minutes... Worth playing?

I enjoyed it. It's rather short. If you have game pass, I'd say it's worth playing at least for a half hour or so and you should know by then if you're going to finish it or not.

Almost breakingmy 3 weeks of non gaming., After a hard day of work, I sat down last night & hoipe to get some quality time finally with Phsyconauts, but the game cannot run. I reinstalled the game & got to bed. Tried again to test th enewly installed version, & dicovered its problem with gamepass. After 2 hours trying everthing, & nothing worked, I uninstall gamepass & unsub.

Guess PS5 is open now that MS pissed me so much.

Haha good luck getting a PS5 :p I quickly googled and apparently quite a few people are having the same problem, some got it to work but I see you're past that point now, I've read GP for PC has had problems in the past. What was that other Microsoft store or something on PC that people just hated using.

Started playing the bioshock remaster (collection is on sale 10 bucks) and damn it's good, still holds up so well. Actually haven't played the original since it first came out so it's pretty unfamiliar. I newt infinite a few years ago and heard bioshock 2 was crap so not sure if I'll play the other 2.

Also sunk a few hours into days gone, still not sure if I like it yet.

Installed Nier Automata, played like for 1 FKing hour & died to the supposed boss (no saving at any point possible). Brought me back to the start of the game. Uninstalled.

First gaming time in 3 week.....What an experience. The game is actually quite cool, but someone think its a good idea not to allow save for an hour worth of time...
Thankfully it was on game pass & I didn't spend any money on the game.

I bounce off Nier for nearly the same reasons. Eventually I got bored with it as it really didn't give me a reason to continue playing.

I replayed the "intro" 3 times, that's pretty much how far you got.
Xbox just got that function (they had a similar thing earlier though) that allowed you to start playing before it got fully installed... But a bug made it so that you just got a message about needing to wait for it to finish installing and just as you I thought it autosaved... Which it didn't, and I lost an hour or so.
Playing through it again (it still hadn't installed fully) and same thing happened so I thought I could just wait for it to install fully but no, it just froze lol.
Third time it was installed and worked though, funny thing is you will replay this several times in the actual story since that's how these games are made lol

Still, it's a magical masterpiece when you've experienced it fully imo.
Also a perfect main character to made a 3d print of.

I did a quick google& there are already TONNES of 2B figures, as well as A2. For reasons, she is very popular for a character that only in a single game.

The creator hit a gold mine in character design. She is a bit kinky for me, but different stoke for different folks.

But due to the daring design, she stands out among forgettable "realistic" games characters.

Interesting, it is not just guys that are into collecting anime characters. a lot of women are into collecting them as well. Turns out, most people love seeing/playing/watching attractive/badass looking people (shocking I know), cosplay & collecting figures of them.

I am finally able to play Psychonauts 2.

I played for about 3/4 of an hour.

Technically the game will not blow people away ,but the art direction of the visual is pretty outstanding.
but most importantly game is fun and funny AF. Emotional baggages are exactly baggage’s and doubts that weigh you down actually depleted as a creatures with a weight. Lol

There are surprising depth in gameplay and combat and different enemies required different approach and skill.

I am playing D2 resurrected now. Feel like a kid again.

Finished Tales of Arise. ( PC ) I swear if I didn't know any better it was a few steps away from being a Star Ocean game.

Overall, I enjoyed it very much. Still not my favorite Tales game but I liked the production values, music and combat. Story went a little long in the tooth and fell into some classic anime troupes by the end but there was enough there to keep me intrigued.

Needed a Halloween game and since it's been in the backlog for almost two years now, I decided to finally get to Luigi's Mansion 3. Have only played about an hour so far but enjoying it. I played a bit of Dark Moon but never beat that one.

Finished House of Ashes from the Dark Picture Anthology. This one was tense and stressful from the get go and didn't pull any punches through out. Very well done.

Just beat Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix and about to watch Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded. Next in the series will be Birth By Sleep, but will take a few game KH break first.

Next game is going to be an oldie that I never played, Dead Space. I know the re masters or whatever is coming out, but I don't care I'm going to play the originals for free on Game Pass.

Finally making some head room with my backlog and started Deathloop (PC). Initial impressions....I really like this game.

Just beat Dead Space for the first time. Shame I waited so long to play it, it was great. Can't wait to play the rest of the series but first going to play the newest game from one of my favorite series: Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age.

Since I am on Holiday & my laptop is an antique, I barely play aby games. But I do take the chance to see what is all the fuzz about Demon Slayer manga. The Manga alone (or Japanese comic) that supposedly outsold all of America comics combine sales.

So I went to a bookstore & bought the first book....

Now I have 4 books & 2 figurines, that can be pose together (see below). I only read 2.5 books worth (series have at least 23-24 books by now) so I do not think I can make a good review, but what I read so far were pretty good.

I really like the siblings love/protection theme of the Manga & the figurines ith hand holding emphasis this., So I bought them, It will be tough to fit the boxes into my luggage, but we shall see.

By the way, the merchandise for the Manga is massive. I heard it earned $1 billion in profit(or maybe revenue) in a year alone, & I totally believe.
