Recently I stumbled upon a fruit/supplement called "Miracle Berries." The claim is that putting a dissolvable tablet on your tongue will turn sour and bitter food into sweet and delicious elation. I'm always skeptical when I try new supplements and the Miracle Frooties were no different. You put a tablet on your tongue and dissolve it by rubbing it around your tongue. It takes about 20 minutes to dissolve.

So, does it work? In one internet word, OMG! A lemon tasted like ultra sweet lemonade. A white grapefruit was actually edible and tasted divine. I still don't understand how people can eat grapefruits. Tried a semi-ripe banana, still a lot of green on the peel, and it was sweet. There was no bitterness whatsoever. Also tried some 70% cocoa Ghirardelli chocolate. It tasted pretty much like milk chocolate. I'm not much of a beer drinker, though I have been picking it up recently, but one of the tastes you have to try is Guinness. I've tried Guinness before and it's awful to me and impossible to drink. After the Frootie, it tasted almost identical to really dark black coffee. I don't drink coffee either but it was almost like drinking an ultra black coffee. Forgot to try vodka or other liquor. I'll do that next time.

I ended up trying a few other foods as well. Peanut butter tasted the same. Milk chocolate tasted a little less sweet. Raw broccoli tasted the same. I put some lime juice on the raw broccoli and it tasted like lime candy. The tablet lasts probably a half an hour. I was able to eat dinner without any weird taste alterations about a half hour after the tablet fully dissolved. The only thing I did wrong was not taste the food beforehand. I'm not kidding when I say you really will not believe what you're eating is actually what you're eating. There's no way a lemon tasted like that.

A couple of warnings. If you're going to try them, make sure you don't overdo it. You're still eating citrus which will increase your acid reflux and cause your throat, mouth and lips to hurt if you consume too much. I knew this going in and just ate a quarter of a lemon and a quarter of the white grapefruit. If going the beer, or alcohol, route, even though I didn't try a liquor, you're still going to get drunk even though you don't feel like you're drinking alcohol.

The miracle berry seems to be the real deal. The Miracle Footies I tried worked amazingly well. I don't know about other brands but I'm going to assume they work just as well. I'm actually stunned something that the internet raves about working actually works.

I got mine at here at Amazon.
