Mixer being Shut down

Yeah, they are dumping the app. They want you to use the built in Mixer tab going forward instead.

Didn't even realize there was an app for it anymore. Just go to the tab when I'm watching something.

It's been in the Insider build for a while now, it's all integrated into the OS like, something sorta like the "Community" Feed, but just mixer stuff instead, the games list, top games, you can click and go to the people you're following etc etc everything you'd expect. The app is gone completely, when you click on a streamer or a feed, it pops up like any old normal video you play on your Xbox, you got the chat instantly right there if you want. It's all very seamless really, all the same functionality but without the clunky app.

I only ever use Mixer to get in-game rewards and to watch the Xbox trade shows.

It isn't long for this world
I think next-gen will decide what will happen to this site. If Xbox Series X does very well it might also help this site. It is just a shame that Xbox gets this and Xbox one gets a bad rep.
If Xbox take things where people don't have to go up and beyond and have everything included without involving a PC to stream and use any computer to create a layout and tie it to the Xbox live account, this game makes things much easier.

mis mixer on ps4? Could it help if they go on switch?

Yeah not being on Playstation just makes it that much harder to take off.

Either way I doubt they will ever be competitive. Their big move was throwing big bucks at streamers and it didn't move the needle at all.

I really don't like that they partnered with facebook. Just bite the bullet and partner with twitch.

I wonder how much regrets there is not acquiring them back in 2014 lol.

2 streamers we know of, will do fine. Rich stay rich. But everyone else will hurt from this. They seem to have much support from other streamers. But if you only have a few 100 followers or if you go to platform and they don't want to follow you, this will hurt.

They didn't know it was coming and only have a month to make arrangements.

Not cool.

Didn't MS say they were going to assist in moving over the existing partner accounts (like Ninja) to Facebook gaming?
