I've been waiting years for a decent baseball game. My dad will be thrilled. Now we just need someone other than EA making football and hockey...
But no baseball game will ever top this.

Does it really matter, especially if they add the follow up next year to GP? And you’ll get a discount on it if you buy it using GP/GoldIm curious how long it will stay on GP. If I really like it I’ll buy it soon as it leaves GP. Looking forward to checking this out in a couple weeks.
I wish you could repeatedly bean hitters like in Bases Loaded to have them charge the mound.
If I recall correctly it’s 3 months minimum, which is when you get 20% off.Im curious how long it will stay on GP. If I really like it I’ll buy it soon as it leaves GP. Looking forward to checking this out in a couple weeks.
I just don't see people switching ecosystems in large numbers for a single game, it's not like the series is disappearing from PlayStation.Does it really matter, especially if they add the follow up next year to GP? And you’ll get a discount on it if you buy it using GP/Gold

The game only sold a little over a million copies a year it's not a huge title lol I swear the xbox guys are trying to make this a big deal because they haven't gotten anything from MS to play on their new console yet and likely won't until the fall.
Baseball doesn't matter in the west outside of amerika anyway, can't name any players... I don’t think people will buy into any ecosystem for a baseball game alone.I just don't see people switching ecosystems in large numbers for a single game, it's not like the series is disappearing from PlayStation.
You can still enjoy playing the game though. I don't follow any sports but still enjoy the odd pro gameBaseball doesn't matter in the west outside of amerika anyway, can't name any players... Is baby ruth a baseballer?
It's one of two games that made me purchase a PS4 last gen. I get what you're saying. It's not God of War. The significance of this is greater than it's surface level commercial appeal though. I believe it's the second biggest marketing move for Game Pass behind only the Bethesda purchase. It's the equivalent of "this is how we share games" from a mindshare tipping point (IMO). This franchise has been a rock for the PlayStation brand for years and is exclusively on someone else's subscription and cloud service. Will it sell millions and millions of consoles? Not directly. Indirectly? Yes it's shined a bright light on the Game Pass paradigm and even for gamers who aren't baseball fans, it has gained their attention. All this at a time where the console battle is at a standstill. There won't be an abundance of stock until 2022.The game only sold a little over a million copies a year it's not a huge title lol I swear the xbox guys are trying to make this a big deal because they haven't gotten anything from MS to play on their new console yet and likely won't until the fall.
It's not going to be a game many people play though that's the point, this isn't a 10 million seller that's going multiplatform it's a game that most people won't want to play. Baseball games just aren't that popular, if they were Sony wouldn't have been the only one being able to make them all this time. Most of the noise online is either from xbox fans who have nothing better to talk about and are for some reason trying to run victory laps over this while still not having a single AAA exclusive game released on their consoles for over a year and a half, the others making noise are spoiled sony fans who think it's the end of the world to let someone else play a baseball game. It's one of two games that made me purchase a PS4 last gen. I agree Sony fans are being way overdramatic. It's not a huge loss for someone who bought a PS5 hoping it's going to be a lot like the PS4 but better. I disagree that it's not a big deal for Game Pass. A major sport and highly rated AAA game hitting day 1 on the service is pretty significant. It's not going to be a game many people play though that's the point, this isn't a 10 million seller that's going multiplatform it's a game that most people won't want to play. A month or two after the game releases it'll all be forgotten except for Sony taking in a little extra money for developing a game to sell on another platform. I have a feeling there will be a lot of people who try MLB on GP and then never play it again, it'll likely be treated like a demo more than a real game release by many.
I have to say Sony fans are really being overdramatic about this and old games going to PC, it's insane how childish some adults can be. How does it hurt anyone if Days Gone and Horizon are playable on PC? Days Gone is going to be 2 years old by the time it releases on PC, Horizon was over 3 years old.
Same. My logic is that a baseball game, over time, could result in hundreds of hours of play time. There's really nothing to fill the void.MLB The Show based on my interests was a bigger exclusive than Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, or Spider-Man.
Close I don't care for baseball either, I had to play little league as a kid and hated every second of it.Baseball doesn't matter in the west outside of amerika anyway, can't name any players... Is baby ruth a baseballer?

A lot of people will try it and barely play it. It will also gain a new base. That's how things have worked for Game Pass so far. Some people are excited for this game. Others are excited based on what it means for the potential of the service.
As an aside, The Show was in the top 20 of games sold in 2020. Hardly insignificant for a game that launched on only one platform.

Wasn't trying to make my point console wars but I guess everything related to Game Pass indirectly is since it's a stark contrast to Sony's strategy. I think you're going to see this as a significant landmark for Game Pass getting over that mindshare tipping point. You saw how the conversation helped drive Outriders adoption. Expect the same for The Show. Engagement is more important than sales in this context. If 5 million people play The Show this year, the sales won't matter as far as its mindshare boost to Game Pass.
I am curious. If something is too good to be true, it most likely is. I understand the Netflix way of doing things. They are building assets, BILLIONS worth of assets.
I would love to see, only out of curiosity, an example of how a game like Outriders works on Game Pass. I mean, let's just pretend the game sold 200,000 on day one. 100,000 on Steam, 50,000 on PS5 and 20,000 on Xbox Series X|S. We will guesstimate that the sales ratio for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S is 50/50. So how does Game Pass make up that 30,000 copies?
30,000 x $60 = $1.8 million
Thoughts?
