Pretty incredible. Lots of respect for such a consistent increase in quality. I love how they can continually make the characters look more realistic while still keeping them consistently recognizable. Man, The shots from MK 11 look almost pre-rendered.

Also... BETA... TOMORROW!!

Edit: also, this shows the massive impact the small details have on the overall image. The shaders and shadows go that extra mile.

The kombat-kast was great today, Liu Kang and Kung Lao look like they are going to be fun as hell to play, Jax looks like he'll be great too but he's not as flashy. Loving my time with the beta, I was never a Kabal fan before but he's pretty easy to use in this game, Jade is fun too.

That sucks but at least we have a few days with it, glad you liked what you did play. I've played it on the One X and Pro (yeah I got it on both I'm an idiot lol) the One X looks slightly sharper but that controller just isn't meant for fighting games IMO.

I didn't have any control issues...

The buttons are too clunky for my liking and the shoulder buttons just don't feel as good for a fighter as those on the DS4, neither does the D-pad IMO.

I have an XBox controller for my gaming laptop. It was okay for casually play with MKX or DooM, but it's getting worn out.

I'm interesting in other controllers and curious about the Steel Series.

EDIT: I was tempted to take my laptop on the road, but figured it would take a long ass time to get the Beta download on Wifi.

More of me playing pretty badly but I still love it anyway lol.

I think Kabal is one of the easiest to play as. I really like Scorpion in this one. Especially with the spear twirling moveset...

Yeah Kabal is easier to pick up and play, Jade isn't too bad but she takes a little more timing with things, Scorpion feels great and Baraka feels like a brute. They are all better than Skarlet, she's the least interesting character in the beta by far IMO both from gameplay and appearance.

More of my piss poor gameplay, this time on the One X. I captured it in 4K on an external HDD hooked up to the console and uploaded it to the One Drive from there, seems like it still came out in 4K, well at least the first one did.

I dont mind her, and she looks good in the costume without the head dress.

She's fine but that's basically it for me, she's not bad but she's not all that good either, she's just kind of there.

Yeah that's his original style mask, fits his look best IMO.

I watched some Kustomization clips. I guess there are several base skins, but then allow swapping head gear or things like weapons.

I wondered if any of this includes an option to switch base color / shaders like INJUSTICE 2?

Also during the teaser for Shang Tsung, there was a generic character walking the stairs to talk to him. That combined with the new phrase YOU'RE NEXT makes me really wonder if fully unique character creation might be in this game where our own created fighter enters the conflct.

Dragonball FighterZ did a much more silly version of this, but tried to break the 4th wall refering to the player as a fighting spirit that has possessed Goku.

There are a few color options for each skin currently but you can't change the colors anymore than the options they provide, at least not yet. Also from some leaks it looks like each character will have 6 skins so the three we are getting in the beta etc aren't all they have.

As for that character in the Krypt/Shang trailer nobody seems to know who he is, sadly he isn't Rain like everyone thought he was when they first saw the artwork featuring him at the reveal event. I've seen some people speculate that he's from the MKX comics but I'm not sure if they are right about that.

Some technical info from the beta.
https://comicbook.com/gaming/2019/03/31/mortal-kombat-11-ps4-xbox-one-graphics-comparison/

In the video from VG Tech, we can see that Mortal Kombat 11's beta is performing rather well on each console. Dynamic resolutions are being implemented across the board, with the Xbox One X running between 2880x1620 and 3200x1800 and the PlayStation 4 Pro coming in between 2240x1260 and 2560x1440. During scenes that are capped at 30 frames per second, however, the Xbox One X can achieve 3840x2160, while the PS4 Pro tops out at 3200x1800.

When it comes to the base consoles, PlayStation 4 is rocking steady 1080p resolutions, while the Xbox One can only achieve this during the FPS-capped scenes. Outside of these times, Xbox One is coming in between 1536x864 and 1664x936.

They are doing a great job with this game, hell you need a PS4 Pro just to get 1080p on Tekken 7 lol.
