I've gotten pretty good with Jade. So as of right now she's my main. I never thought I'd pick her out of all fighters but I'm really enjoying her play.

I'm wondering what they're doing with Sektor and Cyrax since there is a quote often mentioned they weren't going to have unplayable NPCs again.

Last time they came bundled as Tri-Borg. I wonder how The Terminator moves and character will be implemented into this game including weapons, wether it looks like Arnold or the Endo-Skeleton or an original character. It might seem fvcked up to push him as an alt-skin for either Cyrax or Sektor, or maybe meet halfway giving The Terminator some Abilities to choose from either one in addition to a few new unique abilities.

It doesn't seem that much of a stretch to give The Terminator many of Sektor's weapons though like rockets or a flamethrower, maybe not the teleport though.

It would be cool if they give the Terminator Erron Black's rifle stance, but with a shotgun.

Yes and in the past everyone just waited for someone else to do the work and they'd just look it up online and go get it, they don't want people doing that. They do deserve the benefit of the doubt because in the past the ability to buy out the krypt was there day one and they could have done that this time and never made any changes to address the complaints people are making.

So instead they are selling time crystals because they know how hard it will be for people to get a specific skin. None of this was a mistake.

To busy, but got in it again a little bit. Just played some single fight rounds, but oh my fvck I tested Kung Lao's Brutality finisher which is like an updated machine gun punch face tenderiser from MKX.

Everything looks better than on the YouTube clips and the sound fx add a lot to it.

The game feels weird and stiff, but this is just from old MKX habits. I had the same thing when trying INJUSTICE 2 using familiar characters, but with the new moves and combos.

I'll also mention I just played a few rounds with Noob Saibot. It's crazy how just following his most basic combos in the move list look so nighmarish and badass and I'm not even a good player yet. Geez.

Having a blast with just the little bit of gameplay I'm squeezing into my busy work schedule. I haven't had time to work on Story yet or unlocking gear.

A big assumption on your part, there are only 2 skins available at any one time and they change daily, they are also skins that can be found in other areas so they aren't only available for real money, hell it even tells you in the menu if they are from the krypt or the towers of time.

That "quote" gets passed around a lot but I have yet to see where Boon actually said it. They gave them new skins but I think their moves are all the same from MKX. I don't think they have fatal blows either because they never seem to try to use them.

I finally got to play this some more. Decided to try the Tutorials which does drop limited gear and Koins, but I have a hard time with getting past the Move Cancels part. I did learn a few things like how to escape juggles that I might revisit.

I got my freebie KOINS so I went into the KRYPT. I really wish this could be a more linear experience to get to content, I don't feel like doing what feels like RPG crap in a fighting game to unlock content. I really preferred simple stuff like completing Story mode to unlock Shinnok or this time Frost. I also think the Krypt constant calls to a server is ridiculous; I did have the Krypt crash on me once, but maybe everyone who got the Koins just added to much load to that part of the server. It did not crash the whole game, it just pushed me out of the Krypt.

I ran through the Novice Klassic Tower for basic play and to see some more endings.

Then I tried the Towers of Wasted Time. What a clusterfvck. I keep thinking I'll only go back in their after I accumulate 20 Skip Fights or possibly try sending an AI to fight it. It almost seems managable, except in addition to all the modifiers and sh't dumped on you, the CPU will then use their FATAL BLOW.

I think the FATAL BLOW is a cool idea, but I'm not sure making it a free 'Hail Mary' last minute super attack was a good idea. For one thing, it gets tedius sitting through it when the character still has no chance to win and I still have almost all of my health. I would've suggested a tweak where the character pays for the Fatal Blow with sacrificed health from the next round or possibly also requiring meter wich self replenishes anyway.

While I feel I can b;tch about how a lot of things are implementeed, with patience and playing, gear will be available in the store dealy or in the Krypt. The core of the game for me is casual play of the Klassic Tower which is really, really entertaining. I have zero regrets about buying this game, I love everytime I pull a Brutality.

I still have to set aside time for Story Mode, but looking forward to that and unlocking Frost.

Man, I really hate doing the towers. I got disconnected during one as I was close to finishing and the progress was gone. I got some early outfits through the Krypt, but alot of cool skins need you to do tower grind.

Also, I'm so tired of people switching to scorpion when they lose simpy for the teleport spam. Just pick your favorite character in the game instead of singular move.

My suggestion for the move cancels is to turn off negative edge or whatever it's called. I think it's on by default and I had issues doing that. Even looking at the controller icon it showed I was inputting things correctly but it wasn't coming out correctly. As soon as I turned that option off I was able to do it correctly consistently.

I haven't spent much time in the game either, just working on the tutorials. Like all fighting games I'm too casual to play online so story and towers will be good enough for me in this game.

Agreeing with yankeessuck on this one.
It's not a great look for them tbh. Considering that Boon is well aware of (even friendish? ) angry Joe and the hits EA have taken for their greedy ways, I'm very surprised by this loot box stylish krypt. I do like the guy and games, they're pretty much the only dev that tries to keep moving the fighting genre forward, so if they fix this I'll buy the game full priced.

I wonder if this is a cost of working with WB?

Good point and I think even the tutorial mentioned that. I might revist this kind of thing after a few months of casual play.

I'm way to casual to play online to. If anything, the Tutorial showed me what is possible and what I don't really have time to master, and basically the tools diehard players have.

I still enjoy this for casual play though because I don't feel I have time for games with lengthy campaigns or traversing big open world games in multiplayer battles.

The krypt really isn't a loot box thing though, you can't spend real money in there or on any of the currency that is used in there. It is too grindy though no doubt about that and thankfully they are addressing that by increasing the payouts for the towers etc.

I decided to try the Towers of Time again, specifically for the character tower to get some Raiden gear.

At first, one of the Towers seemed adjusted so it wasn't as bad, until I got to the Boss at the top who kicked my ass badly.

For anyone who played INJUSTICE 2, that game had the option to let an AI play your character and so does MK11. In the Towers of Time, you can also still select the Konsumables and the AI will use them and you can do custom tweaks to AI behavior. With some strategy, you can babysit the AI and let it grind out Towers this way. I got through all the Raiden towers and unlock more Skins and Gear.

Strangely, after that I tried another tower and some modifiers are still kicking the AIs ass. The only reason is some modifier projectiles are coming and the AI is not even dodging them.

Oh well, it's still worth trying out and maybe the AI can be better tweaked to block. Maybe enough Konsumables can make up for it to.

I gave up on another set of towers because my AI was completely oblivious to the Modifier Projectiles in it.

However, a single tower appeared with Cassie Cage as a Boss tower. I was able to beat it and get several pieces of Cassie Gear and a Skin.

I'm working on a Tower set that should drop a bunch of Erron Black stuff if the whole thing is completed.

I might pay Koins to unlock a Tower set for Cetrion Gear. Eventually, I might do that for Kung Lao.

During all this, I picked up more Time Crystals and might have close to 300 which might get me something in the store. This also racks up Koins for the Krypt.

OMG my AI Raiden just slaughtered Cassie with his 2nd Fatality. Is just me, or does it seem like Cassie's face animation really emotes horror the most of any character when getting killed?

I had a lvl 30 Noob Saibot disconnect on me last night. After I won a match he disconnected after he won the first round in the next one. Wtf is this? Players seem so petty in this game. The struggle in this game..

I never saw the point in having an AI play the game for me. If the grind in a game is so bad I need an AI to do the unlocking for me... That's a problem...

I think they should allow us to set the AI up for like 20 fights and just leave it without having to babysit it and start it over after 3 fights each time. I already put it on 4X speed but still having to sit there and watch it seems a bit silly.

She has the "softest" face out of the bunch so I think that's why, all of the humans show a lot of emotion but hers seems to show the most.

I had Server Issues which crashed The Krypt, Towers of Time, and even Kustomization last night. I don't get this need to talk to the servers if you're not doing online gaming. I turned off my Wifi to see what it would do and it disabled Towers of Time and even The Krypt.

So I went ahead and played through the Story Mode which was fun. The story for this series is kind of off the rails, but I enjoyed how nuts it is. I was hoping the ending would be bloodier considering how the animation looks when you beat Kronika in the Klassic Tower.

When I finished Frost was not unlocked, apparently because I was offline. Again, WTF at this server thing. So all I had to do was replay Chapter 4 while online.

Just FYI you get a couple of more hearts if you do a mercy and once you've beaten them again use a brutality if you can that combo gives you the most hearts per fight at about 8, I think a mercy and fatality gives you 6. Mercy if you don't know how to do it is stand mid screen distance away, hold the left trigger and push down on the Dpad 3 times.

I read that my crashing issues might be related to Windows 10 updates. I manually checked updates and a big one pushed through. Would be great if that helps out.

Also, I played Story Mode offline. Now that I'm in the game online, all the Story Mode rewards are in notifications. I think I've been opening rewards for 10 minuts lol.

I'm still going through it all, but I'm pleased that Story Mode unlocks so many character skins and gear pieces. It gets you content without being so grindy. I'm also getting Time Crystals and Koins to spend later. I mean just take a break from the damn Krypt and get rewards for a fun Story.

I'm really happy to get what I think will be Raiden's skin that resembles his MK1 look.

Well..... fvck. I just had another Server Game Crash and it was only in Kustomization checking out the new unlocked Skins. Hoping these glitches get smoothed out; in so many other ways the game is excellent.

EDIT: Trying 'Check File Integrity' in Steam.

EDIT EDIT: All files were validated. I wonder if MK11 has network settings under options. Hmm... this bug sucks.

I went through a couple of towers using AI and beat Cassie and Jacqui but then came Shao Kahn and he has a modifier that can kill you with one hit, that just isn't fun at all. I tweeted a clip of him finishing me off in two rounds in a row with one hit each (full match was 16 seconds) to Ed Boon and one of the game designers I follow on twitter and told them they still had work to do on the towers and that things like that just aren't fun for the average player, we aren't all pros lol.
