Hey look at all these colorful characters we have and then there is my favorite character "some guy in jeans". Hope he is in MK12!
He sounds like a race bent Johnny Cage only instead of being an actor he's a washed up MMA fighter.
Which would end up making him a new character essentially if that ended up being the case
That also applies to all the other theories I have already seen pop up about who he actually is. It would be them throwing a bone to fans but its still some generic new character no matter what. If he is Scorpion/Scorpions son it would be way better if he was just Scorpion from the get go out for revenge.

There is a weird flash frame to what I guess is Scorpion while he looking into a mirror. Not sure maybe he's connected to the ninjas somehow.
Sadly the guy didn't even have a single line in the trailer, I hope that doesn't mean they have no confidence in his performance.
A quick shot at the end appears to show scorpion, sub zero and Cole all in the same scene so not sure what's going on with it.
All the speculation seems to fall on him being the brother of Subzero or son of Scorpion. Makes sense since the trailer focuses heavily on Subzero which makes you think he must be the main villain.
Not feeling the raiden casting, guy's way to small and fragile looking to be a god, otherwise it looks like they nailed it.
