I share this level of excitement, but for different reasons. I liked this video, but there is a major omission with his theory that Microsoft is teaming up with Sony to combat Nintendo's forthcoming dominance. It's actually kind of laughable, to me. Never mind the fact that Microsoft already has laid down a sort of half-public partnership with Nintendo, already. Frankly, it's a little immature that a lot of people have had SO much trouble coming to terms with the fact that: IT'S NOT ABOUT HOW MANY CONSOLES SOLD! It hasn't actually been about that for a pretty long time. Why is it so 15 years ago for so many gamers and half the media, still? The OG Wii was HUGE! How does this equate to software sales, let alone subscription models? It doesn't. These two companies are not threatened by Nintendo anymore than they were 15 years ago. They are doing fine. In fact, both are making huge profits and everything is quite harmonious competing alongside Nintendo... for now.
The real threat here is 100% Google Stadia! Make no mistake. That is what this is about. The stakes are getting much higher for all three console makers right now. It's about to soon be Team Microsoft and Team Google... Wait, I hear rumblings of a Team Amazon. If you don't understand this, you aren't seeing the big picture of what's really going on.
