New gameplay footage of Metal Gear Solid V from TGS on Xbox ONE.

Looks good but hopefully turning on night vision during the day like in MGS V doesn't make the game impossibly easy to beat

I noticed when zoomed on to the tents the fabric didn't vibrate as intensely as the ps4 version. Less violent weather confirmed for xb1 next gen...

So wait, the first mission is breaking into Gitmo, and killing US soldiers? I would want to play this why?

Why apparently?
because these things have a habit of turning into..... it's a PC using Xbox joypads etc...

somewhat akin to driving the streets of GTA and mowing down any amount of US citizens?

you know.... like, it's a game..

This footage really has a lot of issues. When does this come out? Snakes shadows are on or off (especially when he first gets onto the base, hiding behind the concrete barrier). When he drove the jeep, no ruts in the mud and the shadows are really way too light.

Hope they have time to tinker with this.

The more metal gear games that come out the less enthusiastic I get...for some reason this series has lost me :(

Snake is only chain smoking in the PS4 version to rub it in our faces!

Honestly I tried and I just don't get why people like this franchise.

The game it self looks good, but I don't know why I find it hard to get excited for these games.

I played MGS1&2 on PS and loved them but the rest were just meh to me I didn't bother with MGS3. I will give this one a try though.

Played MGSolid/MG2 years ago,fun but too much story and cut scenes to wanna sit down and play these games nowdays. Kojima is seriosly overated.

That would be my biggest gripe with MGS is the cut scenes. The biggest compliant I heard about MGS3 it was more like an action film then a game. o_O

Yeah. Its like when i sit down, play a game,I don't want cut scenes or dialgue constantly interupting my game every 5 minutes. It detstroys the mindset I'm in to play MG games. It pulls me out of the game too much. I wanna move aound, read my locations, see if its safe to move on,or have a silencer ready to take out a guard. No,instead i sit through some monotonous 8 minute codec dialgue, followed by a bunch of mini Snake cut scenes. This is sprinkled over all the games. Argh! Honestly? Kojima should try his hand at a pixar film. Would be fun to watch, all while keeping the cinematics out of the games he creates. Let the gameplay do the talking, not the cinemas. Because ut seems that always at the forefront of his games more than the gameplay is. Anyways, should be interesting to see how much they upgrade the game to the next gen systems. So far looks like a cross gen game.

Yeah the cut scenes do pull you out from the game. The codec conversations did go on and on and on... If they have them in MGSV then we should still be able to play the game whilst they are talking.

Anyone know if this game is going to require knowledge from other MGS games? I haven't played any of them in the past, but this one does seem like it could be fun.

It's a "prequel" but also a sequel to previous prequels.

Being MGS, I'd say it's gonna be real heavy on references to the past and towards "future" events and characters that could possibly be misunderstood or missed entirely by someone who's not familiar.

Just as well...this aint lookin too hot just yet.

Weren't both versions running off PC's? Seem to remember reading they cocked up at one point and still has a PS4 command in the XBox One demo?

Yeah, though others never seemed to have liked it, I feel like it's losing its identity.

Another stealth game down the drain it seems. That basically makes it all of them since 98, gutted and when they didn't get the sales they wanted, soon to be left to rot.

Wow, that's going to be really controversial. The cut scene I saw where he kills a bunch of African kids won't sit well either. I think controversy is what he's going for, but it might be a bit too much this time around. I personally don't care.

Big Boss is not a good man.
They've always mentioned child soldiers in the series, a few important characters starting out that way and all. Finally come to a head.

Splinter Cell had a level in Guantanamo, no one raised a fuss about it, though you weren't allowed to kill anyone in that level, so I guess it's not the same. Just as well, metal gear solid has always encouraged "pacifistic" gameplay, insofar as they don't encourage cutting throats and poppin heads, pushing more towards tranquilizers and knocking people out.

So this level is not focused on killing anyone, that was just their choice.
If they were good...none of that would've happened really.

Second use of english voice acting now, but more substantial than the monologue of robin atkin downes in the first one.

The fleshy faced guy (apparently called skullface. sigh) sounds pretty narmy. If you like keifer sutherland, this is the game for you. I feel like he needs to sound deeper though. Snake and kaz sort of sound like the same person doing different voices.
