Official Thread New PC Hardware Discussion. POST YOUR RIG/SETUP.

I didn't buy it. It was like 530ish after taxes. Prices have after all seem to decrease a bit. I was going to buy it and sell it on offerup. But here in Cali, the 3060 is selling around that price. No profit there.

Yeah screw that...I was going to offer you like 300 bucks. I need another GPU for my rendering rig but prices are still upside down.

The 'Red Baron' is complete: I have nothing else to add to this build.

That looks sick! The Red Baron isn't complete my friend. There's one last thing to add, giving it a place to call home. I'll pay for shipping.

Was a pain in the ass to get those lian li uni fans. Damn things are always out of stock but the static pressure they provide for cooling is next level!

But I'm sure you can slap in another couple of fans or even radiators in there. :)

Seriously, that looks pretty sweet. Kylo Ren is going to be pretty pissed you stole his rig, though.

Kylo Ren is such a little bitch..lol. All he does in the movies is whine.

I switched out some hardware in my main PC. Got rid of the cooler master case cause it was garbage and replaced it with a Phanteks P500A. The P500A is a much better case and is constructed much better. I also swapped out my AW3418DW for a LG CX 48'' OLED. I miss the ultrawide but hot damn the oled is a looker.

That OLED looks really nice. I may just get one myself, since the Asus 4K Mini-led is mad expensive.

Can anyone help me with a gaming monitor? I haven't looked in a long time and the various price points and options are just annoying.

What I'm looking for:
32 inch
1440p is fine, 4k would be nice but I'm not looking to break the bank
144hz or more
Good response time as I play FPS games, but I'm far from a pro gamer who needs anything super fast.
Not sure on curved or flat?
Looking for a decent brand name
HDR would be nice but maybe not a deal breaker?
Budget - would like to stay under $400 US if possible. Again I'm not looking for some top tier thing.

Even filtering on that criteria there's tons of options. LG has a million monitors that size all priced differently.

Man, all the specs you listed and under $400 USD? I don't know. The Living Tribunal DarkPassenger and eVo7 might have some suggestions but I've got nothing.

I have this monitor. It cost me around $700 like a year ago. It's native Gsync and AMD Freesync compatible. Sadly, no HDR. But looks incredible when calibrated.

It's $474 at Best Buy. You might find it cheaper elsewhere.

Under $400 US with those specs is going to be difficult....

That being said here is one....

Thanks! That's what's confusing, there's 32" monitors that are like $250. All the specs seem good but I know I'm missing something on them.

Was looking at this one too.

Amazon product

Everything is on "sale" too so it is hard to find an actual good deal. I figured I couldn't get 4k for that price, but I'm fine with 1440p. I don't think 4k is really needed unless the screen is really big. I'm pushing 50 and can barely see anymore anyway.

Yeah it can be daunting to look at it all. WQHD is the way to go in my opinion...I've been rocking this one for some time and I love it!
It is a little pricy but worth it IMHO.

Also....4K is not needed right now and that is doubly so as you need the hardware to push it as well. I've got a 3090 overclocked to 2.1ghz and even I think 4K gaming still needs some time in the oven.

3440x1440P ULTRA is the way to go man!

I'm hoping to get a 3080 eventually, but I'm putting that off until the prices cool down. Lots of good console games coming out this fall anyway to keep me busy.

By the time new gpus are readily available the rest of my system will be outdated.

I’ve been thinking about getting a monitor for my Xbox Series X or PS5.
I’m more interested in the refresh rate and response time than resolution. 1080P is even fine.

Any suggestions?

Whats your price range? Otherwise we can get real expensive in this thread.

FINALLY got hold of a RTX 3080 from EVGA's queue system. Been in it since Oct 2020. And not a moment too soon. Since my wife has been working from home and freelancing, she's had more rendering projects than ever and her home workstation with a GTX 1080 was not up to the task. She'll inherit my RTX 2080TI which should make some of her projects more bearable.

Nice, I would have preferred a new card to buying the Series X but they are just so impossible to get.
