I

It's taking some getting used to but I have found a lot of good uses.
Yeah, I have so many different programs I run, with different kinds of documents and files. Really useful for text documents and code.

I'll still get the 4080 or whatever Nvidia is going to call their cards, but that depends how much of an upgrade it is from a 3080.

No guarantees you'll get one, if you need to upgrade now is not a bad time as things are dirt cheap.
They said that about the 3000 series.
Good things come to those who wait, well that's what I would do.
Buying yesterdays PC parts I would never recommend with new stuff coming.

Yea, and it took 2 years for cards to be come readily available at MSRP or lower.

In the PC market there is ALWAYS new stuff coming, so if you have that mindset than PC gaming isn't for you.

Do I wait for this

That depends on a lot, I personally am skipping Zen 4 because I just upgraded from 3900X > 5900X and am very happy, I also don't want to have early adopters issues with AM5/X670 (remember AM4 early adopters issues) and not to mention the price of DDR5 is insane right now. If you are moving from an Intel platform or older AMD stuff then I would say wait. If you're on AM4, I would say get a 5800X3D, unless you want to spend an astronomical amount of money on a new CPU, mobo, and ddr5.

I don't know any PC gamers who buy older tech when the new releases lol.

And no in 2022 PC with the current consoles PC isn't that important to me.

Except I never said for anyone to buy old cards when new ones are out. New cards haven't released yet, they haven't even been officially announced yet. Typical delusional s*** you say.

I did say they were around the corner no?
You are suggesting they bite now on older tech with new coming.
What kind of s***ty advice is that?

Of course you are as is every PC gamer in this thread who agrees with your suggestion to bite now instead of waiting.. lolz!
Do I wait for this

YES

My mindset with PC parts has always been: buy whenever you need a PC. By the time you've waited for a price drop or sale, new tech is already on the way or releasing soon.
Agreed. In my case, I am giving my PC to my nephew. He's been wanting a gaming PC to play Warzone cross platform with his dad on PS5. Apparently, he didn't want another PS5 because he wants to play CyberPunk 2077 on PC with cool mods.

Anyway, it gives me an excuse to build another PC for myself. I have to admit, I get the itch and when you have the money for it, it's got to be scratched.

If my motherboard dies, I have to part out my PC and build a new one.

I've been looking around for an LGA 1151 (9th gen z390) backup......they aren't really out there at a reasonable price.

It's kind of scary. But it is what it is.

Have I told you lately Motherboard, that I love you?

This EVGA news sucks too. I kind of hate the entire electronics market at the moment and so happy to have what I have.

I'm a huge EVGA fanboy. It sucks, but what can you do? I couldn't get my hands on an EVGA 3000 series before getting my Gigabyte 3080 though. I didn't have a choice considering the supply and demand issues .

I guess I'll be going Asus or MSI. I've had an Asus 2070 rtx and an MSI GTX 980 and they were solid overclockers. Their customer service can't compare to EVGAs, unfortunately.
