New Star Wars Trilogys...

They rushed the final season of GoT for this. Should have taken their time.
I keep seeing this around the web, but has this actually been confirmed? I'm sure they were ready to move onto Star Wars, but I doubt they "rushed" it. They're just not particularly good writers, as seen by what happened when they ran out of source material.

Reason I say “rushed” is because the final season should have been a little longer. Seemed like they were ready to move on. I still enjoyed the final season for what it was though.

They definitely rushed it but we don't know that it was because of Star Wars.

One trilogy canned

Kinda, on hiatus/pause...

“David Benioff and Dan Weiss are incredible storytellers,” Kennedy told Deadline. “We hope to include them in the journey forward when they are able to step away from their busy schedule to focus on Star Wars.”

somewhat amusing to me. There are star wars projects going up and down, cancelled, created, or renewed, but the only one that more rambunctious types would love to see fail (rian johnsons next take) hasn't had a peep about it.

With recent news and considering the amount of stuff already in the works and releasing soon (as well as outside of movies) I'm not so disappointed in seeing these guys back out. Sounds like they've lost their spark.

Take a sabbatical rich dudes, you'll figure it out.

I want Jordan Peel to write and direct an episode/trilogy... I know it’s not really his style to work on something preexisting, like when he was offered Akira, but he’d have some free reign if he was given a blanket slate like they did. But he may not fancy being told what to do like former directores for rogue one and solo 😔

Internet and social media generation will make sure disney cancels this.
Naw, they kinda like him now. 🤷

I've always been OK with TLJ, but it went from most hated, to "misunderstood classic" over a couple years... I'm still just "OK" with it. (had a few moments of greatness) He's a decent writer though, TBH. I'm still interested in a whole new trilogy from him. Hopefully it'll be that new High Republic time-line. That would give him a much fresher start, IMO.

Ep 1-3 > Ep 7-9
I was a kid when they, ep 1-3, were released....I can still remember the cow for the thx intro and how the whole theater shook when the pod racers flew by, it was intense, especially the music for the fight scene with maul.... I’ve yet to watch episodes 4-6 *runs away

I really wish they just make a few completely different singular movies in different eras that hold up on their own and may or may not be able to be optioned into sequels later if well received, rather than jump into it assuming trilogy from the beginning. These kind of predetermined trilogies rarely (almost never) end up good, and Disney's already shown they have no clue how to do it.

One person in charge of a trilogy and taking their time is the better way to do it though if you are going to do a trilogy.

2 might be worse than 1. 3 is good.

They are extremely bad but nostalgia and fanboyism blinds people.
Nostalgia? The first one was s***ted on universally by EVERYONE lol
The other 2 wasn't, as movies they are fine.
Star wars isn't schindler's list, they're sci-fi soap operas (at least Lucas movies), for what they're going for, they're fine.

I'd much rather watch 1 than either 2 or 3 personally, I find both abysmal. 1 at least had some decent ideas, if you pull out f-ing Jar Jar it' was a relatively decent scifi movie. Relatively. As someone who was an adult when 1 through 3 came out, i find them all borderline unwatchable now. I've never been able to get into the Clone Wars series, despite how "good" everyone says it is, because I outright don't care about this vision of Star Wars history. It just makes so little logical sense to me as a supposed backstory just 2 decades before the original trilogy.

And for good reason but that doesn't mean people can't be nostalgic for it. Even the worst moments of the sequel trilogy look like The Godfather compared to Ep 1 and 2.

Second one was hated just about as much. At least it doesn't have Jar Jar so it probably more watchable but if you imagine a world where either is the only star wars movie that ever existed nobody would say that they are "fine".

That sounds good to me as it really as based off nostalgia from the original two movies which were legitimate movie classics but that was a long ass time ago.

I agree to disagree with you about being right, I agree with myself about being right.
