Not exactly sure what happened, but I was playing through C campaign...not sure how far in I was though. I hacked all the androids to get the airstrike in, then I was going around to sections fighting large groups of Androids. I just finished killing this Android in a group and then the black bar came on the screen telling me something about Alpha or something, and then I hit the A button to proceed, then the credits came up SUPER FAST scrolling across the screen...like all of them in 3 seconds. And then it took me back to my last save point. I look at the save and it is called ABO, and I don't know what happened????

There are random things you can do to get endings F-Z. Sounds like you got ending O

SQUARE ENIX® announced that the worldwide shipment and digital sales of the critically acclaimed action-RPG, NieR: Automata™ have exceeded one million.

Must be something in the water. How are all these niche Japanese games that nobody wants breaking the 1 million mark in sales? The industry is booming!

I got yet another random ending (yeah, I am addicted, I thought I would have stopped before this, lol). This one had the screen turning red and black and shaking with a tube tv kinda look. I could not SEE A DAMN THING I WAS FIGHTING! lol

Nier: Automata sales were "significantly above" expectations, according to Square Enix. I'm sure the expectations weren't all that high to begin with -- niche game by weirdo developer, sequel to low-selling, obscure game -- but still, it's good to hear, especially from Square, who are not prone to be satisfied with sales numbers (I'm remembering how they were disappointed with Tomb Raider sales, even though they were at 5 million at the time, I think).

I assume this means Nier will get another sequel. Funny. No one expected the first to get a sequel, and now we've got a "hit" series on our hands.

I don't think it's my cup of tea, from what I can tell. I've heard the characters are fairly soulless, and that's kind of a deal-breaker for me. The combat, for all the praise it gets, seems to emphasize the red orb "bullet hell" that (for me) was the most annoying part of Nier (the original game). Also, I don't like the bland, mechanical environments. I think that would feel like a drag. I do like what I've heard about the weirdness of the story, but I don't think that's enough by itself to overcome my other reservations. But I'm glad others are enjoying it.

Well they are androids.

Get it when it hits the bargain bin which will still get devs a cut as opposed to buying used or renting. I really enjoyed it.

Yeah, I may. The weirdness is the main selling point, for me.

Started this tonight and got through the demo portion. Hmm not sure what to think really. I remember being super pumped during the demo but wasn't really feeling it tonight. I think I just miss a game like DmC or Bayonetta. I feel like some of the enemies, especially the small guys that shoot the orbs are just annoying really and kill any momentum of attack.

Andy I have never used share play, but if you ever want to share play my Nier you can. I don't know if it means I have to be there for you to do it, or if I can just click on your name on PSN and select a shareplay option that lets you play my copy if my PS is in rest mode?

Thanks, Kvally. I've never used Shareplay and don't know how it works, so I looked up a video:

Looks like you'd need to be playing the game at the time you hand it off, and we both need to be online. That's a bit inconvenient, since my console is rarely plugged into the internet, and I just game when I feel like it, not according to any sort of schedule (you're probably the same). Appreciate the offer, though.

I've played the demo, watched a few gameplay streams, played the original, and read some reviews, so I think I've got a feel for it. I hope to give the game a try at a discounted price, sometime down the road, after I get my backlog whittled down a little.

And it looks like you play as my character based on the video you showed. No trophies or stats for you. So it must be really just remote play with a one hour timer.

Finally got around to playing the demo for this tonight. It's uh.... definitely not my cup of tea. Camera swinging around by itself was annoying and fixed overhead parts weren't much better. Didnt care for the gameplay at all.
Legit shocked the game was so wildly raved about.

Not sure how to explain this....but if you didn't like the demo, you wouldn't enjoy the game. But, the full game is much better than the demo IMO. If that makes sense. It's the most bizarre game I have ever played. I never really play Japanese games. I think the last one I played was Blue Dragon when it released, and that was for like 30 minutes.

Japanese games arent my thing ethier but I took a gamble and bought Persona 5 even though I never played a Persona game and its soooooo good.

Maybe Nier will show up for free on PSN+ some day and then you can give it a go. You might change your mind.

Well I'm still trying to play it but man I don't know. There are small bright spots that I enjoy but then I'm back to ugh let this be over. My next main mission is
go into the underground city or whatever
so not sure how much I have left. Judging by side missions I'm only like 15% done with those. The story isn't the issue I think it's just the game play. As much as I love PlatinumGames and their past stuff, I'd rather just play Bayonetta 2 again honestly.

I didn't do many of the side missions, though I should some day. I did a few more of the campaigns at the end too. I was thinking of getting the DLC, but the time I spend on DLC could be used to finish my other games like Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Horizon Zero Dawn, Ori, FH3 and more. And I want to pick up Recore and I still haven't finished those? WTF am I thinking sometimes.

Ive patched everything and this game is still running hanky and crashing like a mofo(on PC)!!

I'm switching to team green after this card. Tomb raider, FFXIV, having to attack drivers numerous times, and now this! Gah!

The game was absolutely unplayable on PC if you had an AMD card. It's not like it was a suprise that a lot of gamers use AMD cards.

Sloppy work. No wonder MS dumped their arse.

"Square Enix and PlatinumGames are working with PC device manufacturers, like AMD, to address the issues with the Steam version of the game because some of the issues are not what Square Enix and PlatinumGames alone can resolve fundamentally. With AMD's help, Square Enix and PlatinumGames have successfully resolved some of the issues, and we hope to achieve similar results with other hardware makers. We appreciate your continued patience and support for Nier: Automata.

I did finish the game (twice) but I had to put up with numerous crashes. Rubbish.

I agree. I played the demo and thought it was ok. Certainly don't get the effusive love for it, though. Of course, I didn't care for Bayonetta either. I do, however, like the look of this protagonist.
