Mixer being Shut down

There are some good streaming content out there. It's not just about the game, but some of the commentary is quite funny.

There are some games that I don't play that I don't mind someone else walking through.

I think MS is thinking of the future, Halo and picked Ninja up because that's what he'll be playing come next year.

Well it's done something, top downloaded app on iOS chart and over half a million subs which is more than he ever had on twitch

Saw this on twitter, not that it matters all that much, can't say I agree with his tone.

You don't see the countless negative xbox related retweets including clickbait nonsense like MS spending the budgets for Ryse 2, Alan Wake 2 and Quantum Break 2 for this? Despite also reminding xbox gamers that Mixer and Xbox are 2 very separate parts of MS in another.

Yep.

And people would be pretty worried if 3 games had a combined budget of $50m

Those 3 combined? Lol. How much do they think they paid him.

I've seen numbers from 50 to 100 million thrown around, it isn't going to be that high.

50 million sounds high but its not going to be a couple million either.

The comparison to game budgets is silly because if Microsoft wants to build Mixer than they have to spend a lot of money to do it. Nobody that is successful on Twitch would ever switch without a big incentive.

I agree.

All the articles claim it's a deal worth 50M.

I was saying people are saying that should have been spent making those 3 games but would be bitching if MS only gave them a budget of around 16M each.

It was also said after he pointed out Xbox and Mixer are two separate parts of MS so people shouldn't use that as a plus for xbox.
Basically trolls saying you can't use it as a plus for Xbox but we can use it as a negative.

Well they could have used it to make a game, but yeah, 3 games is hilarious nonsense.

Not sure how it is a negative or positive for Xbox to be honest. Mixer isn't Xbox anything, it is a multiplatform streaming app.

What if watching someone play video games is surpassing most of TV as worthwhile entertainment? It is reality TV in a way.

Or is it Virtual Reality TV?

As for me, I have a somewhat guilty pleasure toward reaction videos. Mostly, watching reactions to the newest Mortal Kombat 11 Fatalities and Brutalities lol.

I'll probably watch a little DOOM Eternal before I guy it myself just because the visuals and soundtrack are awesome.

Problem with reaction videos is that after the Game of Thrones Red Wedding ones I'm pretty sure 98% of the videos aren't genuine first reactions but rather watched it a couple times to decide when to "react"

But you're comparing very different things and saying something is insane relative to something that isn't ccomparable. A typical 9 to 5 job where the individual makes no money isn't comparable to a actor who helps generate hundreds of millions for a business.

Is it the actor though? I don't know of any stars these days that really bring in the crowds based on their name alone, that wasn't the case in the 90's and before but now a days it just seems like the "mega stars" flop more than have hits and people are more interested in the actual movie than who's in it. When a movie has a $100 million budget and 2 people take up half of that just for their salary it's just not right IMO.

Yes it is the actor. It isn't only the actor, but they are a large part of it.

But they are mega stars for a reason. If the actor wasn't a large part of the success then you can bet your ass these companies wouldn't pay them.

Not right...problem with this opinion, based on this convo, is it is still relative to a void comparison.
