Nintendo’s Hardware Quality On A Down Turn?

Didn't watch the muppet guy, but my switch (bought summer of 2017) had a big blue "oil slick" in the middle of the screen, got it exchanged last year. One of my joycons drops connection if anything is in front of it while playing. Still, it's a pretty premium product imo. Nintendo do good hardware imo, not powerful in the graphics department though.

You had no issues with the analog sticks drifting? I’ve had no major issues, but I’ve heard story’s from coworkers who have.

I don't think so... unsure if I might've had it but thinking it was because of the desync of controller thing I mentioned... only read about it, always sceptical of these kind of stories (until it happens to me lol) as they usually get blown out of proportion (every new iPhone model seems to have huge problems at some point according to media).

I haven't had any analog drifting issues either, but I play my Switch lightly. I also use the wireless controller quite a bit.

I mean I barely use my Switch... like, it'll sit for like 6 months at a time in a dust protected case and all and even then, I use it as a handheld only. Outside of that, the thing is absolutely babied, gets a microfiber wipedown after every use, compressed-air to clean out any dust anywhere else every now and again etc etc.. I just recently started playing my Switch again after it taking one of those 6-month naps, last time I touched it was when I brought it on vacation, and it was only used for the car ride.

So I'm playing through Stardew Valley again and this thing started with the whole stick-drift mess. It started off with a light drift, moving up every now and again, and now a week later it's f***ing an unplayable mess. And it's not like I don't have money to blow, but $70 to replace these piece of s*** joycons is f***ing outrageous. They're enorgamic, too small, s***-tier d-pad, and apparently low quality to boot.

Honestly considering just getting an Xbox-to-Switch converter and using my Xbox controller instead of replacing them, but then again, I'm wondering if the drift from the JoyCons might still interfere with that if they're powered up at all.. complete s*** show.
