Nintendo Super Thread of General Discussion

Muahaha I already have Fusion, ambassador! Why wouldn't these GBA games come to 3ds? I'd personally rather keep handheld games on my 3ds, and console on WiiU. Or at least just release them for both.

Like yesterday I wanted Mega Man 5 for WiiU, but only 1-3, and X are available. But I got Mega Man 5 on 3ds, then MM3 and MMX on WiiU. I love Nintendo but wtf sometimes.

Peter Moore called the tweets stupid.

While I found it funny they did a couple more attacking the Wii U. Might have got away with it if they had done one joke tweet per console.

Haven't spent much time with my Wii U lately. Been playing Infamous:SS but I'm done with that so maybe I get around to finishing Pikmin 3 finally.

Checked out the Mario Golf World Tour on 3DS and think I will be buying this game next week. Need another game for my 3DS anyways as I only have DKC right now. Been getting a lot of use out of the console now using it during my commute.

I just preordered Mario Golf through Amazon, I chose standard shipping so I have no idea when it'll come. I will download the demo tonight, didn't know there was one!

Are you guys okay with me closing this thread? The rationale would be the same as for the PS4 thread -- to spur people to make more threads, rather than putting their "miscellaneous" stuff here. Maybe if the topics had individual threads, they'd get more attention/talk.

The thread isn't getting used much anymore, anyhow. The last post was about three weeks ago.

edit: I'll just unsticky the thread for now.

I think that'll be very helpful. To help spread out more threads and easier to keep up with them instead of one giant thread. While I cannot speak for everyone, most of the time I do not have the time to read entire 30 pages to keep up with everything to see what has/hasn't been posted about the news.

BUT THIS IS MAH BABY!!! :(

Yeah, I knew you'd take it hard. Buck up, Viktor, you got the Nintendo fans through their days without a subforum. You're kind of like Moses.

Viktor I'm going to re-pin this thread. I thought that by unpinning it, we might get more people posting threads, but I don't think that's worked. We need a thread for general discussion of Nintendo topics -- stuff that doesn't quite warrant a separate thread. The other forums have it, and so should this one.

Believe me I look for WiiU news :)

When Splatoon drops me and 11 other people will have something to chat about :) till then it's pretty baron.

Since I got my Xbox the Wii U has taken a break, but I did get a couple hours of SSB with a friend.

Do you all think Nintendo will revisit the VR scene with their own head set? Or even some form of AR?

I think it's possible. I wouldn't think on the WiiU though.

Nintendo formally confirms plan to create a "brand-new concept" in games hardware.

Nintendo's next generation games system is codenamed NX, the company's chief executive Satoru Iwata has revealed.

Iwata said that the hardware project represents a "brand-new concept", but didn't elaborate further. The announcement came moments after Nintendo revealed plans to bring its household games and IP to mobiles and smartphones.
Chief executive Satoru Iwata has revealed Nintendo's next system is codenamed "NX".
Speaking at a press conference held on Tuesday, Iwata explained: "As proof that Nintendo maintains strong enthusiasm for the dedicated game system business, let me confirm that Nintendo is currently developing a dedicated game platform with a brand-new concept under the development codename 'NX'. It is too early to elaborate on the details of this project, but we hope to share more information with you next year."

It is not clear whether the new hardware represents new strides in the handheld or home console business.

However, the new platform appears to be developed in unison with a new membership (or perhaps subscription) service that will unite Nintendo's home consoles, its handhelds, as well as mobiles and PC.

Iwata clarified that this new membership service will "encompasses the existing Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems, the new hardware system with a brand-new concept, NX, and smart devices and PCs."

He added: "Nintendo will be the primary party to operate this new membership service. Unlike the Club Nintendo membership service that Nintendo has been operating, the new membership service will include multiple devices and create a connection between Nintendo and each individual consumer regardless of the device the consumer uses."

I think it's really smart of them to be bringing their older games to mobile and other platforms finally.

For the right price point per game, they will absolutely make a killing in no time.

Now we just need a good phone/portable game platform that can take advantage of this.

buying my first 3DS my friend from HS runs a video game store that sells new and used systems and handhelds and software. he has a MINT but loose 3DS XL NES (gamestop exclusive) edition for 150. I have not owned a Nintendo handheld since I got a DS Lite back in 2005/2006.
