Nintendo Super Thread of General Discussion

Missed the whole thing, got a tldr?
Highlights:
- Xenoblade characters coming to smash
- Cool looking tactics/jrpg type game from I believe the devs of Octopath Traveler
- Mario items coming to AC:NH
- No More Heroes 3
- Skyward Sword HD
- Some splatoon announcement at the end I missed

Everything else was barely worth mentioning. So some good stuff, but could have been 15 minutes long. Too much filler.

I never played Skyward Sword so I welcome the addition. I also saw Mario Golf was announced. If they make online semi accessible I'll buy it.

Thanks for the writeup dog

Some legit surprises in this one.

Pyra joining Smash is interesting. I don't play Smash at all but that an interesting add.
New Mario Golf? I'll take it.
No More Heroes 3 finally has a release date. Too bad its way far off.
Skyward Sword getting a HD re-release on switch is a god send. I never finished the original game cause I hated the motion controls.
Glad the Ninja Gaiden trilogy is getting a release but I'll catch that on PC or XSX.

My biggest surprise was Project Triangle Strategy from Square Enix. So the guys who made the beautiful HD-2D Octopath Traveler are making what amounts to a Final Fantasy Tactics game in everything but name? Sign me the f*** up.

Whaaat!? Will buy!

Release date?

Finished Bug Fables tonight. Fantastic game. One of the best I've played in a while.

Now I'm going to play Star Ocean First Departure R. I've never played any Star Ocean games but have been interested. Will finish this before New Pokémon Snap comes out.

First departure is one of the shorter games in the Star Ocean series. It is very much a jrpg from the snes era and all the good and bad that entails. Still its one of the better entries to the Star Ocean series.

Yeah it was between this and Octopath traveler. While I know that Octopath traveler is probably the better game, I specifically chose this because I knew it was supposed to be pretty short for a jrpg.

Yeah. Octopath while a bit more modern is long as hell and grindy. You could easily get 60+ hours out of it.

Got a switch lite & I'm super happy so far. Got Mario Kart 8, Bioshock Collection (waiting for a new microsd card to install it), Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and Postal Redux as my first batch of games. Since then I also got some random cheap games, but one that stuck out to me was Cel Damage HD. I have real fond memories of playing that on the OG Xbox, and it's still a blast to play. Even surprised it has other apps like youtube and stuff.

Finished Star Ocean First Departure R this morning. Overall, I thought it was a great game. Definitely old school jrpg, but I really liked the combat system and the skills system was surprisingly deep. There's a point in the game where just leveling up doesn't cut it anymore and you really have to learn about skills such as customization, alchemy, etc. I definitely hope they bring the 2nd game to Switch at some point.

Star Ocean: The 2nd story is probably the Best Star ocean game IMO. Til the end of Time is pretty good to but after that its all down hill for various reasons.

Been playing Elder Scrolls Blades, it's okay. Not quite the Elder Scrolls experience I expected. Ravensword made a better Elder Scrolls game I feel. Plus, the game is surprisingly janky for how small everything is.
