It's fifa and some nhl mostly.But in the EU where folk like Swede and starseeker call home it, fifa, dominates against other sports and fps games.

Maybe some nba here and there but Madden basically doesn't exist, I guess it's the rules that makes us go nah. There's tons of basket hoops at schoolyards etc but no amerikan football...goals (or whatever they're called).

It led the way as their "top exclusive" well it was basically that or Halo both of which released the prior year. FH5 hasn't been in the NPD top 20 since January 2022 when it was number 17. So if they are only counting exclusives that's just showing you that they didn't release anything significant this year which we all already know.
NPD tracks both physical and digital unless otherwise specified. There is no mention of that in the article linked in the tweet. Halo was only in the NPD top 20 for 2 months, Gears 5 for 1 month, Flight sim didn't even enter the top 20 and FH5 hung around for 3 months but went from 4th to 16th to 17th then out of the top 20. FH5 is probably the best-selling AAA game MS has released since game pass started with day one releases, either that or FH4, they are the only ones to stay in the NPD top 20 for more than 2 months since day one GP releases started.

According to DF and their sources, Gamepass's impact reduced first party sales by 70-80%.
Of course, this means that FH5 can still be Microsoft's #1 selling exclusive from your article since they don't announce numbers and we don't actually know what this means in figures.

We are getting close to 30 million in Gamepass subs, that's more than half of the X1 userbase.
Count in high growth in PC space, that's still a lot of potential sales there.

They also haven't released another AAA exclusive all year lol I don't know what dots he's connecting there but it doesn't work that way lol. They've released 2 AAA games since this gen started FH5 and Halo, FH5 has evidently sold better than Halo so how does that mean GP doesn't kill game sales? They don't tell us how many they've sold, Halo started at number 2 but in its second month dropped to number 18 which should never happen for a AAA first party game especially a "tent-pole" franchise like Halo. FH5 started a bit lower in its first month but still made the top 5, it dropped into the teens for it's second and third month before leaving the top 20 completely.

You are misreading that, that is there for a particular game on that specific list not a general statement, FH5 isn't on that list so the top selling xbox exclusive game of the year isn't even in the top 20. Venturebeat adds a * when they publish the NPD top 20 and digital sales aren't included, they didn't put that next to FH5 when showing its position in the top 20.

All 3 months FH5 was in the NPD top 20 and there is no * next to it, digital sales were counted by NPD.

Yeah, they are tricking a bunch of people into thinking spending $180 a year for what has mostly been a rental service for old games is a great value lol.
Even if I payed (which I don't) $180/ year, I'd still say it's good value.
If one isn't a complete slouch and want the service and think it's too expensive, one can do the MS Rewards and get it for free.
Football (soccer) is the number 1 sport in like 90% of the world. It isn't "European football" as some Americans said. It is the world's Football.
But the US fifa number is probably boosted by world cup in December.

my gf and get family, from Japan, call it soccer though, but I don’t know if they’ve already called it that since moving here.
