Numbers Discussion V3

Yeah you could and that's what forums have been doing too, showing difference in the FY before and after Bungie.

Pretending hardware doesn't matter for xbox overall only makes sense if you want them to get out of the hardware business and be a 3rd party. Gamepass isn't growing enough to come anywhere near it needs to be to help make that money back that they've spent. We've all just seen that without buying Activision they'd be down in every part of the gaming business.

COD going to GP isn't going to make it grow substantially, most hardcore xbox fans are already gamepass subs and you aren't going to get large numbers of PlayStation COD players jumping ship to get it on GP when they can still buy it on PlayStation.

Ah yes... If you exclude AB doing one of the main things MS wanted it to do when they bought them for over 70bn then things are bad.

Amazing take.
Yeah spending $70 billion just so you have positive numbers to report while taking 30 years to make that money back is an amazing take too lol. That's not counting all of the money you have to spend once you own the company btw.

I mean if you are into thinking that buying up large multiplatform publishers to keep your revenues going as a strategy that's good for the gaming industry, more power to you... I agree that's why MS bought them for but will this be a continuing cycle where if you're not doing well enough, just buy up others that are ?

With a smaller acquisition relatively in Bungie with Sony , even they are feeling the effect of the higher expenses and if it's worth it. Time will tell whether it's a good idea to just keep merging and acquiring companies in the next decade.

All I'll say is I am glad I play on multiple platforms
, just sit back and watch the show lol.

Hardware matters, it so I’m assuming, with them talking/mentioning new hardware to come and next gen hardware to follow it up later. But also isn’t this the time when all take dives in hardware ware, this is like the calm before the storm because e3/summer. And the games that will be system sellers begin to arrive in say September, because holiday sales are what matter most.

I think have pass will begin to grow after they make announcements at their showcase. Which the waiting sucks, but they’ll have to go big with drops, maybe stagger hits from the abk catalog until the release of COD.

I don’t think many will drop ps5 for Xbox for cod alone. They just may buy one in addition to their current setup. I see the hardcore or pros getting it if there’s tournaments and they’re using Xbox’s to run and promote it.

And that’s where Xbox is lacking in, they need to promote. I haven’t seen major promotions whilst on my travels for work or search for food in SoCal. Usually there’s a big building that is covered in ads by the 405. But I think the last Xbox game I saw plastered over it was gears 5. I can’t recall the last game after that, but it’s been a few movies and lots of sports lol

I am curious how this will affect new abk games. As the contracts they signed are only for cod. And their streaming rights are only tied to abk games but not native ones. So if a new ask game, that’s not part of the cod family, is exclusive to xbox and pc, it’ll be accessible via Ubisoft streaming on other consoles and devices but not native to said device unless the platform holder pays for a native version to stream…. Which I feel they’ll just be three of version running/streaming to say a switch or ps5.

I’m lost at where else I am to continue with this. And I’m hungry, so I’m gonna go do lunch now….peace 🫡✌️🖖
