Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft developed by 4J Studios in conjunction with Mojang and Microsoft Studios. It was announced at the 2011 E3 conference by Notch and Microsoft, and was released alongside a free trial version on May 9, 2012 on Xbox Live Arcade. It is priced at 1600 Microsoft Points which is dumb, really dumb.
The Xbox 360 Edition introduces new features such as a simpler crafting system, in-game tutorials, and split-screen multiplayer, as well as online multiplayer for up to eight players over Xbox LIVE (Needs a xbox live gold membership). Notch has stated that the Xbox 360 will be the sole console provider of Minecraft however, Sony has annnounced that there will be versions for the PS3, PS4, Vita and Xbox Juan released soon. As with all Xbox 360 games, updates are free of charge.
So let's talk about Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition!

I like some of the things on 360 Minecraft, like the easy crafting system.
But the PC version, even in vanilla form, is many versions ahead still.
My 14yr old kid is playing it on PC right now as I write this, and is looking up more mods to add to his game.
He's got like 20 mods going at once, plus a really nice-looking resource pack that adds realism to the game.

Xbox Minecraft has been a great game for my 4 & 5 yr olds to play, cooperatively split-screen

Btw, it was a bummer to find out MineCraft360 won't let you play system-link, or LAN mp
I'm not a fan of splitting a single tv 4-ways, and wanted to run a server for all of us to play on 3 different Xboxs.
No dice. :/

Don't forget this:

They keep saying they're working on a way for people to bring their 360 worlds over to the X1 version as well. We'll see. We still don't know when it's happening, or much of anything about it at all. I believe someone at 4J said launch window at one point, but we don't know.

Not sure why you think they'd change the price just because the currency changed. As Nervus said, they're still selling tons of copies of the game, it would make no business sense at all to lower the price.

Agreed. It would be awesome if in the future mods will be made available on the marketplace, even though I doubt it'll ever happen :really:

I'm not sure how late I am to the party, because Istop keeping up the all updates and content releases. But I'm really enjoying the mass effect texture pack. I hope they add more games like halo, gears of war. bioshock. crackdown. ect.....

My cousin is insanely into Minecraft. Him and his buddies play it on the 360 all the time. He watches a ton of videos and there are after school clubs where they make stuff in minecraft. It's pretty funny to watch someone else be so obsessed over something.

I really have never understood this game and its a game that I should like. Maybe when the Xbox one version comes out I'll give it the time it seemingly deserves

I've seen worse. :D

Yes its that crazy

I would have paid $40+ for this game. Im sure ive put in over a 100 hours at least since it came out last year. I wish it showed your play time.

With all the updates and now the texture packs the games stays fresh...

Players of Minecraft on Xbox 360 may be able to transfer their saved games to Xbox One, according to developer 4J Studios

The company, which handles Xbox development for Mojang's game, tweeted a reply to a follower today stating that the company is "working on ways to move Xbox 360 saves to Xbox One with Microsoft." 4J cautioned that the transfer cannot yet be confirmed "until it's 100% working."

Earlier this year, Microsoft's Phil Spencer said that the company is trying to solve the problem of transferring Minecraft saves.

Minecraft was released on Xbox 360 in May, 2012. An Xbox One version was announced at E3 earlier this year, offering an expanded world and more multiplayer features, with a release date loosely scheduled within the console's launch window.

Well that's a gamechanger. I quit playing minecraft because I didn't think the stuff would change over. I would like to get a new seed for a world to build on though.

I always thought it probably would be possible to do something like this. Definitely good for a game like Minecraft though.

Those who are still rocking the xbox 360 and play Minecraft XBOX 360 edition are going to have one of the best Mash-up ever on the xbox 360.

Skyrim texture and skin pack, including soundtrack from Skyrim game!

Coming soon!

That has been a great console exclusive, no doubt. I hope it sells the same amount on X1, PS4 and PS3.

I'm still waiting for news about the X1 version. Hopefully we get unlimited words, and a way to bring over our old maps.
