I didn't see a thread for this and seeing how the game comes out this Friday, I figured I should drum up some attention.

Heralded as a spiritual successor to rainbow 6, Takedown is a realistic tactical shooter where smart tactics and having a good squad to cover your back will get you much farther than running and gunning.

6 player co-op along with several adversarial modes.

The game's lead designer is ex-military if I remember right. He also worked on Ghost Recon iirc. The team is only like 10-12 people and was started on kickstarter. They really do take the time to interact with the community and take their suggestions to heart.

Take a look at some sweet videos.

IGN and DEVS play a bit

Cool stuff on bullet penetration.

Some more play through.

I would love to get it on steam because of the map creator, but all my buds just play on 360. Hopefully they do some DLC.

I am definitely getting this on STEAM. Reminds me so much of R6 Raven Shield. I hope this game is the one. The map editor is going to be sick. My favorite Raven Shield custom map was Anticamper.

Sorry Nervus, I must have missed it.

I wish there were more guns in this game, but I can understand why there isn't. At least they have your basic gun types which would be useful depending on what situation you are in.

its ok because I think mine got lost

I hope this game takes off. I miss clan vs clan matches on TWL for Raven Shield.

I believe the same day as the game (20th). It will be a labeled as a trial like other XBL download games.

Can't wait to see all of the Call of Duty ADD kids try to play this game and get pissed off because they can't just steamroll lone wolf style through a mission.

Did someone seriously compare RB6 Vegas to this game? Vegas one first of all is horrible...I'd play Vegas 2 over Vegas 1 any day...and it figures that MSFT would give out Vegas 1 instead of 2 on the free games with gold program.

While the Vegas series is nothing like the original R6 games, I wouldn't say the game was horrible. Had the game come out with a totally different name not associated with R6, it would have been better received.

I know people are expecting great things from this game, because they really want a solid tactical shooter....I'm expecting a game with massive amounts of bugs/glitches, which is par for the course for many kickstarter games.

I didn't realize RBV wasn't well received. I thought they were great. Not Rainbow Six 3 or Black Arrow great bit still great. V2 was a failure compared to V1 though.

Couldn't remember why I got rid of it the first time until I revisited R6 Vegas via the free download, and yes it's terrible when compared to prior tactical shooters. For one, no tactical shooter should be using monster closets to spawn in enemy AI. Two, no tactical shooter should have AI that magically knows exactly where you are, even when you sneak up on them from behind. Three, no tactical shooter should have regenerating health. Thankfully, Takedown, by all accounts I've read and seen, doesn't have these game-y problems.
