Was the 1st confirmed as the beta date? Please say yes.

This has already been discussed, but thought I'd share it again for anyone who missed it since they uploaded this to the office site today.

We want to make it easy for BF4 fans to upgrade from the current generation of consoles to the next generation of entertainment. That’s why today we are clarifying the offers that will make the transition effortless, saving you time and money. Read on for the full details.
On October 29, we will launch Battlefield 4 on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Experience the pinnacle of this generation of gaming with best-in-class multiplayer warfare, spectacular visuals and massive destruction. A few weeks later, we’ll bring the ultimate all-out-war experience to the next generation of consoles. Battlefield 4 will be available for PlayStation 4 starting November 12 in North America and November 29 in Europe, and Xbox One starting November 19 in North America and November 22 in Europe.

We respect the time you will invest in playing and don’t want you to lose all of your effort when you upgrade to next-gen. That is why we are making it easy to carry forward your multiplayer stats and your Battlefield 4 Premium membership. No more worrying about starting all over again. Your rank, score, K/D ratio, wins, time played, service stars, dog tags taken, vehicles destroyed, repairs, revives, squad score, accuracy and more will all transfer to next-gen consoles at launch.

1942 and Vietnam were the only BF games I played on PC, so the series has been nearly 10 years on console for me.

Unfortunately I'm not of the PC master race, I've only ever played BF on a console. :(

Then you've never actually played BF. What you've been playing is BF-lite.

A old friend of mine kept trying to get me into BF over the years with console versions and every time I spent an hour or two playing and gave up because, the be quite honest, they sucked. Then last year I got BF3 premium in PC real cheap and I've been hooked ever since. It's a completely different beast on PC and insanely fun with 64 players.

I'll probably stick with BF3 for a while as I haven't put much time in to all the new maps for it.

Holy s***e that's a lot of upgrades, at least they seem to be actually pretty worthwhile this time.

I guess only the first 3 are universal between classes, after that you're dependent on the class you choose to use the related specializations. The first perk is always active, the rest depends on how much squad work is happening to level up without being squad wiped.

The support ones really need work. Who needs to be able to carry more ammo when you can just throw down an ammo pack at any time? Everything else looks pretty interesting though.

The trade in value from current gen to next gen is decent I suppose but I might just hold off for the next gen version rather than buy both.

This game looks great and it will be the first time I get to experience 64 players. I only ever played BF3 on consoles.

Love the Perimeter Defence upgrades! More ammo and more claymores? I'll take that. If BF4 is as good as it seems so far, I'm switching over from CoD.

And great thing about BF games is that the maps are so big and there isn't a true killcam to pinpoint the killer. Combined with the low recoil ARs I saw in that preview video, I see myself picking off gamers by the dozen!

Or just like my tank whoring days in World at War, I'll be the guy going for helicopters and jets laying waste to ground troops!

Was this already posted ?

Open beta for upcoming DICE-developed military shooter launching next month for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC; next-gen versions get release dates.

An open beta for Battlefield 4 will launch on October 1, Electronic Arts has announced. The beta will be available on that date for all Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC players.

An "Exclusive" Battlefield 4 beta was previously announced for Battlefield 3 Premium owners, those who preordered the Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe version, and owners of Medal of Honor: Warfighter. It is not clear when this version will be released.

I think if COD outsells battlefield this time, there is no hope left for shooters on consoles after all the effort they are doing with Battlefield and not really too much with Cod.

I'm getting Battlefield 4 only, but I do know a few people that are still just getting Cod :smash:
