You have to remember that this is a title that has been built around moving hardware specs......plus a transition from 360 to Xbox1......it looks amazing.........

Keep the faith and Microsoft will amaze you

I feel like a reverend who's lost his faith and trying to find reasons to stick with the bible

The downgrade to 1600x900 (900P) is no big deal but that leaves only one single first party launch game left that is going to be running at 1080P on XB1, and that is Forza.

The resolution doesnt bother me. But Im definitely going to build a gaming rig sometime in the near future.

Imagine the meltdowns when DF shows the first sub 1080p games on ps4.

It'll be swept under the rug. "Lazy developers" will once again be the backpeddling excuse soon enough. $100.00 says Gaf will be the first place you read this copout. LOL.

Anyways,Ryse is still impressive. And honestly, they want a smooth 60 fps, which is great for a hack and slash game. They could have gone with 1080P at 30, and thrown in more effects I'm sure, but at this point they want an all out mayhem styled game with a smooth/high frame rate. Its a developers choice, not weak hardware. Believe me were seeing the same with PS4 and its '50%' supriority. :b DriveClub still isn't confirmed to be 60,most likely it'll stay at 30 fps. And KillZone has had its framerate cut in half between single and multiplayer also.

By the way, someone mentioned Forza 5 has pre baked lighting? Hmm,haven't read that, is it confirmed or just speculated? Not that it matters really, game looks great. But I do wonder where this news comes from, lots of unconfirmed sources making the rounds lately. Just want to be sure were getting accurate info on Forza.

Meh who cares, many upon many people have been saying that anyone expecting 1080p to be a standard were going to be disappointed.
I was expecting it. I guess I was being a little to forward thinking. I guess this generation is more about more stuff on screen, bigger worlds and better draw distance with a noticable upgrade in graphic quality for the most part. I'm comfortable with that.

Who cares. What is important is whether or not it plays well. I'm much more concerned with it being fun to play then whether or not it's 1080p or 60 fps.

Indeed.

Game is still the most impressive next-gen title Ive seen so far. My tv only does 720p so its no big deal to me.

I don't care what anybody says, not possible on current get systems. Not even close.

To all those complaining about Ryse being 900p come on... it's a launch game! And are we sure ALL those "1080p" PS4 games are 1920x1080? I do remember sony games rendering at strange resolutions like 1280x1080 or 960x1080 just so they could slap the 1080p logo on the back of the box. Oh and also because if i do remember correctly they had a sub-par scaler that only scaled horizontally and only certain resolutions.

I don't care if Ryse is the resolution it is. it's going to look great on a TV. Even though that was a YouTube clip from a phone, the leaked X1 video, Ryse looked spectacular minus the awful mouth animations.

I'm still not buying it.

My fun does not equate to a resolution or fps number. Never once have I ever looked on the back of a video game box to check those numbers as part of my purchase decision. In fact, I would bet for most the cover art has a bigger role in a purchase decision than any of this gobbley-gook argued about with such fervor the past few months. 20+ million are having the time of their life right now digging into GTAV and I bet 99% of them couldn't tell you what the resolution or fps is.

Ryse looks good. Ryse looks fun. That's the extent of my purchase decision.

BF 4 are 720p on ps4, probably also on X1 - who cares

I think we all knew that, didn't John Carmack say "PS4 and Xbox One won't live up to hype, don't expect leaps and bounds."

And that's perfeckly fine, It's about the games for both consoles.

I'm certently lookin' forward to Ryse

I agree. I still play all the games on Xbox 360 even if on pc they look miles better and are cheaper. Why? I like to play exactly the game that the designers and engineers meant to make. I like achievement and i find the environment of xbox live much more tight than psn or the myriad of stores, services and dd providers on PC.
Anyway I like my xbox better than my ps3 and i really want the Xb1 to perform better than the PS4.
If it doesn't... big deal. Still sticking to XB1. Too many franchises i like.

wow this is disappointing.. we were told it was native 1080p.. not it's not.. KI is 720p.. looks like Forza 5 is the only launch title that's 1080p

Yes but you would hope a game that started on lesser hardware (360) would have no problems running At 1080p on xb1.

Sad....count me out sorry not supporting native 1080p is a huge strike against any game this upcoming gen for me......if this is a sign of things to come I may just be buying a new PC. f'ing sad

So was you in before this announcement? Which would mean you was happy with how it looked up until now?

Who's talking about the PS4? We were told this game was native 1080 p a while ago. All the fanboys rejoiced and boasted how many xb1 titles were 1080p compared to the PS4, now we come to find out its 900p and the only game on xb1 native 1080p @ 60 fps is F5.

Just kinda disappointing starting a new generation with last generation limits after waiting through the longest generation of hardware.

Astrograd/TDBank where are you guys.. I wana see what you have to say now about Ryse 900P, and KI as 720p.. do we blame cryek for this? or do we blame XB1 inferior hardware..?

I'm not looking to buy the game, not my tpe of genre, but it is disappointing that games are still struggling to hit 1080p this gen. I thought by now it would be standard, heck a 1080p capable TV is so common why are our games still struggling to hit that mark.

Could it be the Xbone the tho? Seems almost every Sony offering is hitting 1080p.

Angry about 900p? Use this handy chart to sit a bit further. You will never know.

that is a handy chart but doesn't factor in anything about throwing common sense out when dealing with the insane.

This.

It's kinda funny all the back and forth arguments I've been hearing. Months ago, before we knew anything about what resolution next gen would be, TXBers were saying 1080p wasn't important, they were ok with 720p/30 fps. Then, they started seeing some games and were told 1080p, and they used that to bash against PS4, because now it's important. Now that we're hearing that many games are sub 1080p, it's not important again.

It's like the arguments that 360 had better multiplats over PS3, it's important....the new GTA is better on PS3, not important anymore.
:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

With that said, a good game is a good game, regardless of the resolution...but nevertheless, it IS disappointing. $500 bucks plus monthly LIVE costs is a bit much to swallow for games that aren't even running at today's standard resolution.
