One year anniversary of UnionVGF!

In some ways it seems like it's been over a year, in some ways it's hard to believe only one years has passed. Either way, glad the forum is alive and well. Unlike the dreaded Team Xbox.

In many ways, I'm really sad TXB died. It was my main forum destination (for anything) from around August 2001 until it died. I went through periods of not posting hardly at all but I was there to read nearly every day. Hell, I used to browse the site from my POS blackberry back in the early ought's....it was slow as fook but when you're on the sh*tter, what else you gonna do? Damn, it just hit me that I wasn't even 30 when I started browsing TXB.....and now I'm....much older :).

Also have to say, great job here Plainview. TXB started out small as well and hopefully this can be built back up to near that popularity. Congrats to all on one year at UnionVGF!

Plainview, thank you for all the hard work you put into developing this site. Your dedication to the community is really impressive. I honestly don't think that anyone else could've pulled it off, the way you have. You had the respect of a lot of members here, and I think they were willing to jump on board (98% conversion rate, iirc) because they knew and trusted you. Also, it was clear from the beginning that you were open to input and dedicated to making the site the best you could.

You've done a fantastic job with continually updating, improving, and expanding Union. You've shown really good judgment in handling problem posters and in your selection of mods (picking people who are even-handed and don't have big or fragile egos). There were a few trolls in the beginning, but we weeded them out, and now we have a community that can talk about multiple consoles without getting into fanboyish bickering matches, which is a rarity on the internet. It's the only site I visit anymore.

Thanks for saving TXB. And thank you again for all the hard work you've put into this site. It's really appreciated.

Thanks, Andy. It means a lot. I couldn't have done it without you and everyone else here. With your dedication and input, Union grew strong with a very strong userbase. The new mods learned a lot from how you handled your duties and have carried the torch admirably. I like what we have built here and I hope it flourishes in the future for all of us. Again, thank YOU and the rest of our community.

So Plainview, how's everything going nearly three years in?
Love the site and hope it's worthwhile for you to continue.

I'll do a write up for the true anniversary like I do every year. Thank you for the support. I really do appreciate it.
