Ori and the Will of the Wisps - Tears will be Shed

I'm probably close to 2/3rds of the way through. It never gets dull. The environments and animations don't stop being amazing. Not often I say that a videogame is beautiful but this one is. A work of art. Absolutely every single aspect is better than the first game. In some areas its not even close. If it finishes strong, it's making a case to be one of my top 3 single player games of this generation.

Anyone on the fence about this game needs to jump off. If you wait for any reason, maybe wait for the next technical patch because some technical glitches are the only blemish I'm seeing in this game so far. Another patch should be coming soon according to Thomas Mahler (Moon studios owner). Even with those, game is fun, addictive and incredible to look at. If you have great HDR, you definitely need to see this game.

At one point on the map early in the game, I went as far left and to the bottom of the map as possible. And they threw a crazy ass amount of enemies at you. So after dying ten or so times, I thought, “Maybe I’m not supposed to go this way?”

I finally found out where to go next. Lol

I'm hoping they can patch in a performance mode that lowers the res but keeps the framerate up if the res is the reason for the dips, I've gotten to other areas where I notice more dips, still not awful by any means but it is noticeable. The worst thing is when it pauses to load, you can be in the middle of a jump and then it just freezes for a couple of seconds then starts going again.

Getting yo ass beat profucely will typically so that, yeah...lol

I'm enjoying this game MUCH more than the first. I think the improved combat is the linchpin. I will say its running a hell of alot smother on PC than it is on the Xbox one X. I've seen framerate dips and general sluggishness while switching to the map on the X.

I've hardly had any issues with sluggishness. Maybe on a couple of jumps but nothing even worth talking about really. It is such a fun and beautiful looking game.

Me too. Some slight slowdown a few times but never during instances that influence the outcome of gameplay. It's just small blemish but nothing worth noting, really. Maybe I'm lucky.

Finally beat that GOTDAMN spider boss. s*** was pissing me off something fierce, but with Ori's combat I was just on the cusp of winning every time. Damn near took a victory lab when I beat it.

That one wasn't as much of a challenge as since of the other ones for me. The actual boss battles are usually easier than the escape sequences for me, especially once you start having different platforming mechanics to switch from in the block off an eye. I'm in I think the final area though and loving it.

Ecco was so hard to my adolescent brain. Never got past the introductory level.

The soundtrack gives me major chills, every new area, every sequence the music is beautiful, especially after some exhilarating moments the calming music after is just sublime.

I'm about 7 hours in and only about 35 percent done, am taking my time going back through areas to collect stuff, totally in love with this game.

Beat it last night, great game and beautiful. Some of the chevios didn’t pop though.

Never played the first one for some reason... should I play the first one or can I just jump in with this?

The first one is great too, just smaller and fewer features. I’d recommend it, but if not, I linked a video earlier in this thread summarizing the story, so at least watch that so you have an idea what’s going on in this one.

I had to try a couple times to beat your spirit trials, it looked like you went through it once and was like ahh good enough.
