If so please do post your experiences regarding the off beat Wii U game or any form of screenshot, video of bosses, music, etc that you like.

Spoilers ^^ :
For me personally the epic ending where things just kept getting bigger and bigger... funnier too :). Tap A! to save the earth, as does everybody else on the screen :). Furthermore all the references to Kaiju films, Power Rangers, Mazinger Z, Gundam, Macross.. but also NIntendo, Konami, Irem, SNK/Visco and SEGA games, like:
  • Space harrier (when Platinum Robo grabs the Alien Ship, it basically becomes a Space Harrier homage ;))
  • Panzer Dragoon, the way you are selected your targets to focus on them for fireing.
  • Punch out, including the beat up faces on the Mechs
  • Wonder green's powered up gun turning into a SNES Superscope.
  • The Fighting levels with Virgin Victory being an homage to Viewport (SNK/Viscom) and Zaxxon.
  • The brain in the end an obvious homage to Venom from Nemesis and the Brain Monster from the first boss of Salamander
  • The Enemy from the future, that humanity "created" themselves, returning to wipe them out (Bydo Empire from Irem's R-Type (While at the Same Time GeathJerk is far more tragic in the usual melodramatic Sappy 80's/90's way of "MAN! you are always to blame! When will you learn.)

Furthermore.. a first level where you first fight yourself up a stairs and take a waterslide down while going "WEEEEE!" with all your heroes and temporary heroes? PRICELESS! And that breaking of the fourth wall when you fail or succeed with the special QTE finishers :p. GeathJerk looking at you with a :"WTF!?" after you succeed drawing the P for PLATINUM :D. So Platinum Robo can fire her... well too long to repeat her, only Wonder Red can remember such longs names and introductions :p.

Oh and plenty of rainbows, Pink (Pink Leader being the main F-18 of the F-18 support wing ;)) and other fabulous colours to keep little old Fabulous me happy. The fab side of the force is best side of the Force :).

All with all, let's give this unloved puppy some nice bones and plenty of cuddles. :).

To start off here are the links to the Themesongs:
Japanese:

English:

Just LOVE that cheap Casio Organ sound effect (it's plays more in the Japanese one), so Kitschy that it is Wonderful again :p.
Basically the whole game is one big RollerCoaster Ride of rainbows, hyperactivity and good fun :).
Still English Voice acting isn't as... wonderfully over the top as the Japanese ones, although Gideon Emmery really tried his best playing that "Cool Tea Drinking Commander of Age". But it is a bit like Nintendo in the west was a bit afraid it was seen as TOO much heh.

All things said, I really hope Hideki Kamiya get's his way for Wonderful 102 :). Platinum Robo needs to be Wonderful again!

I'm only about halfway through but it's just nonstop epic, that about sums it up. Amazing game.
Indeed, it's like it never lets off of the Throttle :), and just when you think they can't make it more... ridiculously over the top epic... They surprise you by showing the Engine also has afterburners for the Afterburners ;). Wait till you do the last few levels, that stuff is just.... stupendously over the top :D and then some, I won't spoil what will happen for you :p. I just finished it on Normal, going to try Hard now :).

Really I don't understand why this game did not get a bit more love from the Gamer community, it really is a Wonderful title :). The music alone is already epic :).

This is essentially a strategy game right? How does it compare to Pikmin?
If the Pikmin have over the top animations, morph attacks, tumbling Godzilla and even bigger things while boombastic music blasts in your ear and you at the same time have to do some platforming. Oh and afterwards you steer a ship with solar sails and afterburners through a maze of hostile Aliens wanting to kill you.

Than yes.. it is like Pikmin ;).

Now... now.. I'm not being honest...

Pikmin is... very slow in comparison. Wonderful 101 basically takes you on an extreme roller coaster ride, with rocket engines strapped too your cart. All the while you fight of Dinosaurs with flaming swords and lasers. The only problem is that sometimes it misreads the input on your Wii U tablet when you draw what Unite move you want to use, and the bigger you draw the more powerful the move ;). But that could very well just be me being a bit too hyper at that time :).

Personally I never liked Pikmin that much, but loved Wonderful 101 from the first time it was announced to having finished the Normal campaign just about 2 hours ago :). Just don't take it too seriously, as it is a tongue in cheek approach to many old films and games :).

Like Pikmin doing an 8 ball :)

Frenzied beatem up with a strong learning curve is how I would describe it.
It also has shooter levels, shooter levels while doing a beat em up, Puzzles while doing a beat em up, Rail shooters... while doing a beat em up and without doing it. It's actually quite varied.

What struck me the first time I played it was how well it uses the second screen, where even some First party Nintendo games let it be at times... they actually use it for cutscenes, indoor action while something happens on the outside too that you have to check. Selecting your main hero while fighting, list goes on and on.

If Bayonetta 2 uses the screen as much as Wonderful 101 than Nintendo would be a fool not to invest more into Platinum, who has shown interest in becoming a second party to them like Rare used to be. Still, rather see Wonderful 102 than Bayonetta 2 right now, but that could be because I'm still on that rush :), I mean even during the ending credits you can set high scores and read up on funny headlines at the same time.

Haven't played it yet but it's on the list when my backlog goes down a bit.

$24.00 on Amazon right now.
My goodness ol' chap, do yourself a favour and get it straight away! You'll be thanking yourself all the way to the summer for that wonderful experience filled with epic battles, legendary water sliding of 100 heroes and effeminate mechs doning rainbow boas! And before you wonder, yes all of that happens in the game ;).

Haven't played it yet but it's on the list when my backlog goes down a bit.
Well, I'm hoping your backlog will go down like an Italian football player after a rival team pointing at him. This so you get the experience, and that Nintendo will allow Platinum the pleasure of making Wonderful 102 :).

Seeing how the latest, and I must admit marvellous, instalment of Donkey Kong Country has been getting a lot of attention, it is a bit sad to see our wonderful heroes being left in the cold. Therefore I made a few quick screen grabs while I was beating up a tongue in cheek pop culture reference to Mecha King Ghidora. I do hope this will get other Wonderful fans out of the woodwork to replay this Spectacular and Hilarious title. :)

another visual masterpiece for the WiiU

Indeed it is, especially on the later levels, sadly I don't own a TV and just play on a 27inch computer monitor so I have to switch each time I make a screen shot. Which means changing the feed to the monitor, renaming the file and playing on.

I will try to make shots while I play through the hard mode, but I really hope Nintendo will soon just change the number in the end to something that consists of <Title of game>_<Number>. Shouldn't be that hard to implement, just a timestamp will already do.

they are appreciated and hope DLC recognizes that too. Just dont think I am technical enough to pull off screen shots while playing games that are busy whooping my a$$ ;)

I just wish to unlock as much as I can, there is quite a bit that you can unlock really :). Plus the game really invites you to try it on harder settings.

Once the controls click, this is a awesome game but it is far deeper than it looks

That is true, there is a certain learning curve, I mostly use the Touchscreen for most unite morphs, but the Sword just goes better with the stick. And there are quite a few items in the Wonder mart to help you improve, they actually add quite a bit. Not to mention heart pieces to find, and if you want to collect all 101 heroes you also have to do quite a bit of exploring ;). They also rank up, again increasing your health :p.

Okay some more shots, both from the battle with Space Pirate extraordinaire Vorken Ohgee in all his Wonderful fabulousity:

And a ride in the fairground of Blossom City after activating it with your sword. Our heroes do enjoy the Wonderful Water Slide and the Wonderful Wheel:

As promised earlier in another thread I would like to post some music, of scenes in Wonderful 101.

Here is the music to the first stage, notice it is the same basic atmosphere as the standard Wonderful 101 theme, but they added an echo and pattern to the notes that really makes it feel like you just entered an Awe Inspiring Water Metropolis of the Future:
http://www.mediafire.com/listen/kz865eh5985wfo0/ST04-1+Defend+Neo+Mu.mp3

This is when you finally go under the water, in the second stage. To me this just spells underwater utopia in danger. There are some huge original Gojira 1954 influences in this and other adventure movies/sci fi movies from Disney or from Japan about lost underwater cities or adventures :) :
http://www.mediafire.com/listen/2cjbx1huyqz5w3n/ST04-2+10,000+Meters+Under+the+Sea+Masato+Kohda.mp3

I will mostly keep it about Neo Mu Metropolis as I do not wish to give away any spoilers, but I do wish to say that all other stages are just as masterfully designed. Fire and Ice are also represented as is the massive fleet battle where the stars are "blacked out" by an enemy fleet and a HUGE enemy space fortress so common in Anime :).

It fits perfectly with the atmospheric looks of the level.

Anyhow also added a few screenshots, apearantly GAF things they mismarketted the title. As the "Innuendo" isn't appropriate for children :S. Sigh... are we that protective of poor Billy's and Mandey's little minds?

No problem, it wasn't me ripping it though. But seriously, it just causes that feeling of underwater to me, like being on the Nautilus or the cheesy adventure films of the 60's by Disney :). Not to mention the things they came up with in Japan :). This kind of musical score really is able to draw the "viewer/player" into the world shown on screen.

Yup, i had a blast playing Wonderful 101. Such a great game.
OH so you finished it? Wasn't the ending just hilarious, can't say I liked the English Voice acting in comparison to the Japanese though. Hardly a Weeaboo myself, I just think the Japanese just put more hyperactive emotion into it and in this game that just fit better as the game is a hyperactive rolercoaster ride :).

Still the English voice actors won BAFTA awards for their work, so it can't have been all bad :).
