I've been watching a lot of build videos and most of those able to speed run the higher challenge tier are those that use that ability to make bullets super powerful. But the Devastator doesn't have that skill so I hope its still viable in the end game. I did see one video with a gamer using a super powerful Devastator centered around earthquake and a powerful weapon so I know its doable with that class. Its still early and the meta will most likely change as more is discovered. But I am thinking about going back to my low level Pyromancer once I hit lvl30 with my Devastator. Trickster also seems really popular, can't blame gamers for that since that time bubble looks really useful.
I'm using Devestator. Curretly trying to see how an Earthquake\Bleed build works

Unfortunately the player didn't show the build at the end of the video I described. But I know they were using the mod which gives an extra charge of earthquake. I know that everytime earthquake was used the player received a huge boost to health so there was most certainly some life steal in there but I'm not sure what mod was responsible for that. But the Devastator build combat routine was, warp into a group using gravity leap, two uses of earthquake and clean up with the weapon. And this was shredding enemies making CT15 look easy. I don't know the weapon used but it was an auto shotgun but I'm not sure how it synergized with the rest of the build.

Yeah i have healing and an extra charge on Earthquake, aswell as a damage increase mod and an inflict bleed mod. Then I have an armour mod that gives 15% extra weapon damage against bleeding enemies.

Right now though I'm struggling to get 2 armour pieces with added status power and 1 of the 2 mods i'm using.

Wow finally got around to playing this game and it is awesome! I’ve tested all the builds and they all seem really fun. For now I’m sticking with Trickster as warping around the battlefield shotgunning fools is the best.

Barely played the demo because it felt a bit janky so I’m blown away by how good this game is, one of my favorites in recent memory

Think this is my favourite game in the looter shooter genre. The big boys could learn alot from this game.

As far as how high (WT) you should go, I think just play what you enjoy more. Pushing as high tier as you can mean you constantly need to play at your limit, die more often, and tune/craft your gears/class/mods more often. Lower tier means dying less, & needing craft/upgrade/fine-tune less.

Some people enjoy this ( I do) some do not. Find the sweet spot for you and play. I am for one glad there is a dynamic difficulty that can cater to various skill categories. I hope more games are like that.

Thats why the loot in a loot shooter is so much better than other loot shooters. They took inspiration from Diablo then destiny.
Diablo & other arpg like Path of Exile are known for exciting loot & skill synergies.

When I play Destiny 2, I just pick an armor/weapon with a bigger number, mobs are walkovers there isn't motivation to improve gears. When I did, it was boring stats-stats.

I checked my legendaries and Yesterday between my solo play and our expedition play I got 11 legendaries....11 in one day. Love how the game rewards you.

What 11 legendaries?! That's crazy, I get all giddy just getting 1 from a boss, apparently we still have 3 main areas to go through my mate reckons and we're almost at 2 days played so it seems 60 hours would be pretty bang on for doing the main quest and all the side quests then there's expeditions to do, so much content and so much fun, I'm loving these tier 3 skills.

I agree with focusing on a build early on, I'm starting to get wrecked at these higher tiers as a trickster, going to start focusing on my shield and armor while using skills. Gets so damn intense.

That's it exactly. Getting all the gear drops at the end of an Expedition is exactly how Diablo rewarded you at the end of a dungeon. Finally a loot shooter game gets released where that idea is used.

Yeah, the pay out on Expeditions is very nice, especially if you can get a Gold level clearance (14 mins or less). We were doing Challenge Tier 8 missions last night (level 40 to 41 roughly) and breezed through them all. Going to bump it to Tier 9 /10 tonight and see how we get on.

One thing to be wary of when you do start playing Expeditions is going beyond Tier 10. After that the cost of buying gear doubles for each Tier you progress.

Yep, 11. I got 3 from the guranteed drop Hunter activity, 6 from expeditions, then 2 random drops.

Destiny and Division are garbage compared to Outriders...Especially Destiny.

Destiny 2 has better shooting mechanics, and I think the graphics are probably better as well. I think I might like Destiny more overall? IDK I haven't put enough time into this one yet.

The Division was cool because it was like totally open world whereas this game has the dumbest loading screens of all time. Division wasn't great though, didn't love it even though I got to level 30 lol.

I do really like this game though. Got to like level 12 or 13 last night and am enjoying it a lot!

Both games, Destiny and Division, are ultimately loot shooters though.

Destiny has an awful RNG system designed to force you to replay in order to get what you want eventually. Then they sun setted loads of that gear people spent so much time getting.

The Division had an overly complex system of gear buffs which they constantly tweaked the stats on. You needed to have an up to date spreadsheet on how to optimise your gear.

In both games the legendary gear also didn’t look really different for the normal gear.

all these core problems are fixed in this game. You get good loot at a decent pace. The modding system allows you to easy build and rebuild your stats as you like, which completely changes how you play your character. All the legendary gear looks and feels like legendary gear. There are so many improvements to the core mechanics of how a loot shooter should work in this game.

I was talking about the subject being discussed, loot. Destiny is a garbage looter shooter, but a good shooter thanks to its awesome gunplay.

Careful guys, this game just came out so you might want to wait a little longer before making bold claims. I understand the joy of something new but we've all been down this path where things start off great and then spiral downhill. The Division 2 had a great start with heaps of praise from both gamers and critics and then the true end game hit people like a truck that soured its appeal for many.

QFT.

This game is the template for how to do a loot shooter. Both Destiny and Division could learn a lot for the way this game is designed.

Hmmm, strong opinions then.

I'm still a low level Devastator. But I do wonder about end-game progression. With a game with so many mods it seems like it could be difficult to min/max a build. I'm aware of the crafting system but haven't used it enough or at a high level to see how it'll make it easier to complete a specific build.

I'm having a lot of fun but I think I'm cooling off the looter-shooter genre. Its fun to make builds and see how they perform. But I'm already left asking myself "what's the point of end-game?" There's no Raid or specific loot to be had as far as I'm aware. I think its way to early for me to be contemplating such a question which leads me to think its just that I'm not as interested in this specific type of game as I once was. I think a large part of that is I'm a solo gamer so I'm missing out on the fun of playing with others. But I'll wait until I'm at least in the post campaign before engaging in matchmaking.

Min/max'ing is not difficult at all. In fact it is so intuitive and easy (and cheap) to perform that it's nearly a mini game in itself combining different skills with different mods to see what you can get. I'm in the end game it is SO much fun. It's also a decent challenge trying to build your up to take on the ultimate expedition mission, Eye of the Storm. PLus you can go back and replay any mission on the higher World Tiers for better rewards. You can repeat the bounty and hunter missions as much as you.
