Got kicked out mid match. Was crushing fools too.

Will give them a few days to get their s*** together.
 
I was able to get in early this morning. My account merge from both PS and Xbox worked.
 
Did Blizzard severely underestimate the popularity of this game?
Did Blizzard lack the ability to manage their servers?

Either way, it's an incompetence of leadership, management, or production.

I wanted to try but I was very sick yesterday, throat pain. I went to test, but got negative from Corona. Not sure if poison from running Resin printer non stop for 5 days, or the plastic dust went inside my body.

Not fan of the excessive "protection". Does adult need to be protected from nasty words? BTW, I was attacked at Blizzard forum for what I think is a reasonable comment for supporting toxicity & being nasty.....

Saying adults need to be able to cope with nasty words & insult means endorsing nasty words......This is the type of people on twitter, where you do not agree /like/support the "right" thing, you must be BAD!!!!

They keep claiming to being DDOS'd too, but there seems to be more to it.

I just logged in at 6am eastern us time just to see if I could get in, and I'm 40 in queue. I can't imagine that many people are playing OW this early in the morning on US servers (unless the queue is global?).

I understand issues the first day. Any free to play gets slammed with random people jumping in, but this is kind of crazy. I can't imagine that this many people are hyped about a game that is barely a minor upgrade.

Not just that, the game thinks Im a new player so I have the majority of the characters locked and 0 cosmetics.

Y'all know there are already lawyers lined up to sue Activision-Blizzard for this launch (regarding the inability to play after purchasing).

It is just a huge mess with so many things:

-The phone number requirement (which just got changed) that didn't work with a lot of providers
-3.5 years for basically the same game
-A pretty bad battle pass system and overpriced cosmetics. Apparently it takes a lot of playing to unlock the new hero through the free tier. Usually COD puts stuff in the 20s or 30s and you can usually get them pretty quick. Not that $10 for a pass is a huge deal, but not all of us want to make that huge playtime commitment. I'm not likely to be an "Overwatch main".
-Server issues - you can't even get in to practice offline

The battle pass isn't too bad its the fact that it gives no currency back that makes it lame. Amazing how publishers could manage to not learn from Fortnite which has a generous battle pass which ultimately makes them more money in the long run.
 
I have to unlock my heroes again even though I'm from OW1 lol.

At least I got to try Kiriko? 🤣
 
Supposedly it is like 100 matches to unlock the main heroes. Fortunately mine copied over. I think there are issues with it, so you still might get them. I got super lucky and got in no problem early Wednesday morning.

Honestly I can't remember a game having this many launch issues for this long. I mean, a few hours or a day? I can't believe that there is a huge queue just to get to the menu.

They think they said no lootboxes now. I think era of lootboxes are soon over, thanks to fortnite. Any new live service game adding lootboxes wil get backlash.

Pushing out Jeff Kaplan did them no favors. The man was insanely passionate about OW1 and it shows in all updates, modes, and features added over the years. I bet he wanted to keep the system as is instead of using the battlepass system.
