Overwatch

It's $40 on PC, so.....

Other developers have no issues releasing multiple digital SKU's, seems like every game comes with 4 different price tiered versions. Blizzard gets no pass from me.

A couple of skins (5)?

Oh wait, my bad, they also give you a bunch of additional junk for other games (games that aren't even on console) that in no way have anything to do with Overwatch.

Edit: nvm, console version comes with loot crates. None of which affect gameplay and you normally get for free by simply playing the game.
Even one skin is extra but its more than one plus you can merge accounts to the PC version and get more somehow.

I just started playing a few rounds, but I just know my experience on R6 Siege (and Destiny to some extent) on PS4 related to mics is pretty bad.

X1 is really bad when it comes to mic users, but PS4 seems worse (in my completely unscientific observations of course).

Actually the mic isn't really the problem, too many people just run the same character and never, ever adapt. If 2 bastions are camping your spawn, you might not want to run Soldier out there over and over and over and over.:smash:
I have a few I been running with... you are welcomed 2 join up with us if you like.

I would hardly call that essential enough to force an additional $20 and not just sell the base version. The base game IS there, the add-on loot crates are just piled on top of it, so they could sell it separately if they wanted.

Okay but I would call it essential

Cool, I only have one friend on PS4 right now, and he only plays COD. :) I'm kerosene31 on PSN (all lowercase, Kerosene31 was me way back in EQ apparently) :)

On another note, as for price the game has been $48 on Amazon forever. The DLC is all cosmetic.

They were going to make this game free 2 play but didn't and for very good reason. Some of the classes require specific counters, and not having access to all the characters day 1 would suck. Leveling systems (except for cosmetics) and pay to win schemes can disappear as far as I'm concerned.

It is refreshing having a game where I have access to 100% of the gameplay content as soon as I put the disk in.

How does leveling work?

Say that I'm casually playing a few times a week. Will I still be able to play with others who are playing non-stop. How does it match make?

That's the problem with some MP games. I can get over matched quickly just because I haven't put as much time into a game as they have.

Simple. You get every class and gun day 1. There's no leveling up, and the only rewards you get are cosmetic or other non-gameplay things. There's lots of stuff to unlock which makes it fun, but doesn't punish you for maybe having other hobbies or responsibility.

Very refreshing today for people with limited time and/or those who can't devote tons of time to only one game.

You need to learn the classes, but you can pick a few to master and be fine. Even since beta there are ones I have never played.

Thanks, nice to hear. I might wind up getting it for the PC.

What are you playing it on?

Yep, still $48 on Amazon across platforms I think.

It just shows how overused leveling/grinding systems are used in today's games. Grindy/loot games can be fun as an option, but too many games follow this one model.

I don't want to buy a game and feel like I'm committing every moment of my spare time to it sometimes.

VaLLiancE playing on PS4 what the hell man.

Grimmy if you get it on PC let me know.

So far I've only played 2 matches against people. First was a defend game I played as Mercy and we pretty much rocked the other team. They unlocked the escort item because most of the team was out trying to kill the other team, but they didn't actually move it from the start point. Next game was assault (that mode both teams are assault I guess) and I played as Pharah. All I will say is RIP the other team. If you play her correctly you can absolutely dominate. I kept my distance and played more as area denial than straight up attacking.

Otherwise I've spent most of the time in AI matches trying out different characters.

For those just jumping in, I'd say learn one character per class (because switching to counter the enemy is huge).

Also, there is a leveling system, so I was off on that. Although I don't think it does anything except give you loot crates (so no getting owned by some no-life uber level 99) :)

Sorry bro my brother and my son plus a few other friends I game with were getting the PS4 version.
I am strongly considering getting the PC version for that 4K goodness to play with a few friends on there like I did the beta.

My bro loves this game. A couple weeks ago he asked me if i was getting Overwatch. I said no, for one you play on PC and for two i got other games to play. Sounds good though.

One thing Blizzard needs to fix is their damn launcher for Battle.net. You have to manually create a shortcut and after every update it breaks. Well not completely but annoying window says it will open the newer version.

Sent the request. Tag is ToxicVampire

I think I'm level 4 on PC. Really digging the game.

Did not happened to me. Mine is fine. Just info.

I can't believe there's a new Blizzard game and I don't own it, 16 years ago me would be ashamed.

Ran into a defending team of all 6 Reapers last night. Dang that team was hard to play against. Took tanks out of the picture (usually I'm pretty good as Reinhardt).

It is neat to see the different strategies.
