P.T teaser = Silent Hills Reveal by Kojima Studios, Guillermo Del Toro starring Norman Reedus

i supppose because p.t is only playable on ps4 right now and thats what this thread is about

Sorry, but is this game confirm to be PS exclusive? Why is it in the PS section.

The interactive teaser is only on the PS4 and not any other platform. If this changes, a mod will probably move it to its correct section.

Looks neat. I do hope the new SH is multi-plat, because I'll have a hard time explaining to my wife how I need another console, lol. Maybe having good ol Darrel (Norman Reedus) can sway her. Walking dead is the closest thing to.sci-fi I can get her to enjoy. She DID get me a PS3 for Christmas once without prompting.

NOPE. :D

Damn! My pants would be thoroughly soiled if I'd seen some s*** like this. YIKES!

Scariest Silent Hill game coming confirmed? :surprise:

http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2014-08/14/kojima-talks-on-pt-and-silent-hills

After confirming the name P.T. has no deeper meaning than "playable teaser", Kojima said the intention was to take the idea of movie trailers and make the concept work within videogames, adding, "I wanted to have something that was really interactive, that you could play through, and after playing you get to the title reveal. I believe this is a first."

Silent Hills will be developed in the Fox Engine used for The Phantom Pain, but that caused some problems in creating the P.T. scam. "This was an experiment, to make a game in the Fox Engine, but it had to look like an independent game. We had to drop the quality, intentionally!" Kojima said. "That was the most difficult thing I've done so far, because using the Fox Engine, we can do much better graphics. If we raised the bar up that high, people would know it was a big studio behind it."

Even the name of the studio attached to the P.T. project, 7780s, was a hint to the true nature of the game. "The S in 7780s is for 'Silent Hill', but when you translate that directly into Japanese, 'silent' is 'shizuka' and 'hill' is 'oka'," Kojima said. "Now, there's a prefecture in Japan called Shizuoka, so gamers in Japan call Silent Hill 'Shizuoka'. If you Google 7780, somewhere in the results you'll get 7780 square kilometres, which is actually the area for the real Shizuoka!" That's a pretty diabolically tricky hint there.

Finally, on collaborating with del Toro -- a noted horror director in his own right -- Kojima said that horror games typically can't be too scary or players won't continue. Unlike movies, where you can look away from the screen, the interactivity of the medium means if you're too scared, then you can't go on. With Silent Hills, he and del Toro have agreed to ignore that "rule" and deliver the scariest game they can. Or, as Kojima bluntly states, "originally, we were thinking of making a game to make you pee your pants. At this point, we've changed our minds -- we're aiming for game that will make you s*** your pants."

I hope Silent Hill goes to the right developer, and that their grand, unmolested vision for this game is pure, unadulterated fear and horror. We don't need Resident Call of Duty.

Good lord it better not be exclusive. We don't need another s***storm.

Bloodborne should be multiplatform imo. It's not fair to Souls fans on other platforms.

Bloodborne I'm ok with being exclusive as it's something new. Maybe spiritual successor to Demon's Souls if anything. This game however is hopefully multi so it sells better and we get more games with Del Toro's input.

Kojima sure know a thing or 2 about creating hype. These video of women playing are more drama then reality.

Have to admit this thing creeped me out. Had to turn it off at the
mutated fetus abomination

Isn't it funny how little it takes to get people interested in Silent Hill again? lol. This is what I always say when people start smack talking about how certain franchises are dead. One little thing can resurrect interest in them in a heartbeat. Look at recent examples such as Tomb Raider and Far Cry 3.

It does suck that I wont be able to play this till my Destiny bundle comes in though. It does look truly terrifying.

Part of it may be because we don't get these games every damn year like other series. So when they finally announce it hell yes. I know if Sony announces a new Syphon Filter I'll ship my pants.

Lots of big lets players are playing this thingy. Which will bring a lot of attention to Silent hill once it's closer to release I'm sure.

If you havent played it, it is legitimately creepy as hell. I love it.

Someone seeminly found the solution for the final puzzle. I tried it, it works,.

I watch all kinds of horror films that aren't even scary. But this teaser is freaking scary.

Can't wait for the full game.

Actually, first person make more scary horror game. But I am a p**** & do not watch horror movies or play horror game.

Konami’s Tokyo Game Show lineup has been revealed and we can now confirm that P.T. / Silent Hills will be making an appearance. With a supposed release set sometime in 2016, it didn’t seem likely that we’d see a lot more from this game so soon after its reveal, but according to Konami’s own TGS lineup page, P.T. will not only be shown, but it will also get a spotlight on Konami’s conference stage.

The extent to how much we’ll see is unknown, but with the huge buzz that P.T. generated last month, there’s little doubt that Konami won’t flaunt the game as much as possible. Perhaps we’ll actually get a look at the game in action, or knowing Kojima, we may get some background video content showing more of the behind the scenes work that went into crafting the game’s concept and maybe even Norman Reedus’ involvement.
