"The versions of the game are not the same between Steam and Xbox," Bucky explains. "That is to say, Steam v1.2 and Xbox v1.2 are not the same thing. There seems to be some confusion that Steam and Xbox are 'missing features'. That isn't entirely true. Some features may be slightly different or have different value but other issues like the missing exit game button etc are not a result of an 'older build', these are separate issues." Bucky adds, "Again, that doesn't mean Xbox is necessarily 'behind' or anything, they are just just fundamentally two different versions of the game because of the architecture on Xbox is different... Of course, the goal is to bring them to the exact same place but this won't be achievable until crossplay is fully compatible."
Meanwhile, Bucky previously responded to questions in the Xbox channel to say that it "takes longer to prepare updates for Xbox. Just doesn't have the luxury of Steam's deployment that lets us spam out tiny patches every 5 minutes," noting that naming characters and "funky sound compression are known issues." A day later, Bucky commented that there was a patch "ready to go to address several issues" and that they were just waiting for the certification review — it's this that seems to be causing the holdup.
