Path of Exile coming to Xbox One

If you are going to make multiple characters I would keep it.

But you will have no trouble selling it if you want. As the game gets older on the Xbox the lower Acts will always have a lot of people running around in night shirts levelling their characters

Strange, Scrolls of Wisdom usually drop regular enough. Are you identifying every item? caus that is kind of pointless imo. I only identify gear relevant to my character, like armour with evasion or bows. Then I sell the other items undentified since vendors give you more that way.

Oh, they do? I thought it was that they'd give you crap for unidentified crap, as opposed to the shards of crap you get otherwise when it's been identified. That makes things easier then. I did get ahead of the curve for a little while with the scrolls, and I think at one point was up to 11 or 12, but then I just killed the boss at the prison and picked up enough crap in that area that I blew through the remaining ones and stashed a few unidentified.

It figures I went into the game knowing from what I've read that the first character is going to suck because if you're not following a build guide you're doing it wrong, but I'm a special kind of awesome to screw up loot/inventory management from the getgo. :)

They don't. You get the same stuff either way, you just get slightly more with identified items. I rarely sell to vendors.

You don't need a build guide at all. This game doesn't work any different to other RPGs, it is just a little more intricate and tries to overwhelm. Just keeps things simple and remember to keep progressing life & defences and you will be fine.

I'm getting my ass kicked. I have no idea what I'm doing. Alot of sidequests and stuff. But it sure is fun.

I don't know. I kind of disagree with that. I think a build guide is super beneficial for this game given the complexity in character creation. Sure you don't need it but it is very helpful. I'm following that necromaner build guide and it's great!

Starting to get better prophecies now, including some that guaruntee unique drops.

Getting frustrated because I'm trying to do the Lab, but it keeps disconnecting me and stating, "You left group because of a restriction". I don't see anything about it on the website either. I'm getting annoyed.

The Lab should only be attempted when your character is in the high thirties. If you die it resets and your back to the start. Equally, if you use a portal back to a town, it resets, and you need to start again.
For the 'left group' message, I haven't seen that one before. Do you have a restricted NAT maybe ? You could try the Reddit sub and see if anyone has info in there. Did you complete all the Trials? You should have if it opens up but you could check the stone map before you enter the Lab and make sure.
You could also move past it in the game and go on into Act 4 and then come back.

My character is level 38 right now. My NAT is open. I may have to move on and cross my fingers that it's not a general issue I'm facing.

When does it disconnect you?
About 5-10 minutes into the Lab, over four separate attempts. I moved on and steamrolled some lady named Piety in another area. I guess I'll try again later.

There were similar issues in the beta, if I recall corredtly it had something to do with Xbox live account issues.

Up to level 20 now, into act 2. Finally got over my compulsion to pick up everything that's blue and now just pick up big enough flasks, blues that I may actually consider using, rares, uniques, chromatic recipes, currency and then if I am at a waypoint or going to portal, I fill up the rest of the inventory space if there is any. Still probably need to get over the other compulsion, which is exploring the whole area in each location and killing everything. Probably should also look at buying some gems and starting to be more serious about fixing the socketed stuff, since right now I'm really only using viper strike with one support gem and frost blades with another support (chaos or poison added) and multiple projectiles. I have other ones leveling and I've used cyclone blades a few times but realistically none of the other ones I have are all that useful right now.

Remember you can level gems in your secondary weapon also. Even of you never use it.

I would keep the 'must clear each area' compulsion.

What sort of build are you looking for? What character are you using.

Wait, there are secondary weapons? That would be awesome to have a second set of weapons targeting specific resistances (or lack thereof, I suppose). I'll have to look into that next time I play.

Shadow, mostly crit/poison/chaos type stuff is the direction I'm heading.

I've done all the side missions in Act 10 and now it's just the boss left. I think I might grind out some XP to get me to 75 before starting into the End Game. I lost at least two bars of XP dying in the city. I went back and tweaked the witch for more damage and that improved my survivability a bit.
What level are you at now? Did you get anything good on the map mission ?

God damnit. I got my first tier 2 map last night and then my internet gave out while running it and now the map is gone:sad:

So I beat kitava last night. Only died 5 or 6 times. It was no where as bad the first time. You take another -30 to all resistance after it. I'm now -40 choas. Damnit.
I ran one of the tier 1 maps. It wasn't to bad. I have a Tier 2 as well so we can run that later. I'm going to start working on a second character as well.

Yeah the T1 maps are easy enough. The T2 seemed easy enough aswell.

I have a rare T2 map we can run also.

Started a Templar, love him.

Got 2 skills before level 5 that are just awesome, Molton Strike & Vigilante strike strike. The latter grants fortify which essentially buffs defences, and coupled with some unique gloves that grant an endurance charge I just wade in and destroy everything. Went from the start to Lower Prison without allocating a single skill point.

Think I will build around endurance charges and fire damage.

Yeah, I ended up rerolling a new shadow yesterday and got Molten Strike at some point as a drop. I didn't intend to use it for long, and yet it's stuck around. I basically end up opening with that (with an elemental proliferation + lesser poison support) and then throw frost blades (with more poison support) and then if anything's left I've got viper strike with melee splash and void support.

Yeah I did a spell damage fire area of effect Templar in the beta and he was awesome.

I started a Shadow. Going to build fast attack choas damage and see how I get on.

Not sure why you used a poison support instead of fire/cold damage or freeze/ignite support. I can only assume you have done so for leveling reasons and are waiting for skills like Flickr Strike or Reave or something.

If you're taking about Shadow, it's all poison and choas damage he does. Not fire and ice or lightening.

You don't have to do that. I planned out an elemental build for Shadow in the beta. Even had the ooption of melee or bow.
