It's funny as hell, but one of these times some innocent is going to get shot and gaming will be blamed.

It should be a federal offense with possible capital punishment to carry out swatting. Period.

So...what do you say to 911 that blindly gets them to issues a SWAT raid, and then what utter lack of any corroborating evidence at the scene causes the idiot SWAT team to bust into an empty room and apprehend with unwarranted force, a single unarmed nerd sitting in front of a PC? Funny too, after they realized what blundering f***ing hard-ons they looked like the SWAT team yanks the camera down at the end as if that was going to do any good.

I don't believe the police are at fault this time around. Specifically SWAT, which is what we see, different than police. They're meant to react to high level threats, aka active gunmen. In a place like Colorado, home to some of the most infamous shooting massacres in the countries history, it's not surprising to see that the law enforcement handle this situation as seriously and swiftly as possible because they can't afford to think this is the prank. The time it takes to get the evidence to show this was a prank would put too much time in-between the SWAT and the gunmen. They're told that if they go in, they'll be shot, but maintain surprisingly good restrain considering all the news as of late. I love how you think a situation like this could have been handled better when they handled it pretty well considering the information they were going in on. Guy got handcuffed because they don't immediately know what's going on. Trying to say it's obvious isn't so simple in that type of situation either. SWATs goal is to make sure everyone is safe and the threat is contained. At that moment in time, he was the threat they were called in for. They handcuffed and questioned him. Once everything was clear, he was let go. This is a case of how law enforcement should act. They were prepared for the worst but controlled their emotions along with their reactions and are on route to tracking down the real bad guys.

When police stick to utter professionalism like this, then that's when I hit this:

Kind of funny but dangerous and a waste of money. Plus if something happened we all know gaming would be blamed.

You've got it all wrong here. They are not to be faulted at all.
