Microsoft has published its Xbox Game Pass for PC pricing ahead of the company’s E3 event later today. The subscription service will be available at $4.99 per month, with access to at least 10 games during the beta phase. Gears 5, which Microsoft lists as “coming soon,” is part of the Xbox Game Pass for PC, alongside titles like Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Microsoft appears to be launching the beta of the service today, priced at just $1 per month until it’s launched more generally. Like its console counterpart, Xbox Game Pass for PC will allow Windows 10 users to download games from the subscription service and play them both online and offline. Microsoft has promised to support more than 100 games from over 75 developers for Xbox Game Pass on PC.

FYI - for Windows 10 you need the very latest 1903 update to get this to work. You likely don't have it unless you specifically downloaded it.

I'm a little hesitant to put the latest update on my primary gaming PC. I just threw it on a spare laptop at work and no issues so far :)

Kind of a weird decision by MS seeing as 1903 isn't even fully released to everyone yet. It rarely is a good idea to be on the bleeding edge of these patches (don't tell that to the person at my work who will be testing it for me without knowing) :)

I'm on insider preview builds so I never even noticed. The fun part of that (or else it's just my laptop) is that I occasionally get stuff like:

This is just me but I downloaded the 1903 and the things that I use all the time now stop working or there is a problem. I am going to add Linux Mint because that is one OS that I never had any problems with my devices.

Again I will keep windows because of my art tablet which I live too much.

What tablet are you using?

I have the Artist 15.6.
There is a Linux driver, I have to figure out how to get it installed.
If I can get that working I have no reason to be on Windows again.

But then again I live the windows drivers that make it run really good so there is that.

Nice, is that what you used to make your avatar pic? What software are you using?

Windows is garbage. I only use Macs at home. Will Linux allow you to do all the mixer stuff you do?

Huh, who knew! That is cool. Is Mint better than Ubuntu?

Can you post a screenshot of your Linux Mint desktop?
So much info that I can share.

Plus wait till I get home because I am reinstalling the OS.

I assume you're talking about the app for this? Can't remember what it's called but correct it needs 1903. I'm still on 1809 but just bought a new 970 Evo Plus so as soon as I get the time I'm doing a clean install of Windows 10 on that beast. I did sign up for Game Pass though and currently trying out Forza Horizon 4 on PC which runs smooth as butter.

I've installed 1903 on a few different devices at work and while I haven't really spent a lot of time digging into it, haven't seen or heard any issues from the people that use it every day. Going to be imaging new staff laptops and a lab with it this summer so hopefully it's good to go for the fall when school starts up again.
