I don't remember seeing the announcement of figures/toys, but, you're right, they've been announced.

I take Major Nelson's "exciting" with a major grain of salt. I think it's definitely merchandise related and nothing used for the game.
 
Just idle speculation, but I've been thinking that they should do an anime. Kind of like they did with Halo Legends.
 
Pretty simple this one. MS has bought exclusive rights to it for the next 2 games or so, or the IP itself. Considering the major buzz for the title it would make sense for MS to lock it down.

Given his track record of calling things exciting I would guess it's some kind of partnership with a place like 7/11 where you can win codes for the game when you buy a slurpee :)
 
Meh... I like Major Nelson but he over hypes little things WAY TOO MUCH! Unless it is exclusivity for future game iterations I doubt it will get me all giddy.

Would make sense, if it relies on the cloud or servers as much as they say. Are Sonys cloud or severs up to the task at this time?

I assume so as well. I read a couple weeks back that Sony was aggressively trying to get Titanfall on their platforms. I can imagine that pushed MSFT even harder to lock up the franchise. But if that happened I wonder how Respawn feels about such a thing. They didn't exactly sound thrilled when the first game to be released in the series went exclusive without their knowledge.

that is what I was thinking as well. MS LOCKED DOWN TITIANFALL!
 
probably be like Halo CE, the first game was on PC, then locked down to xbox afterwards. I'm thinking TF will be exclusive to only the XB1 after this game.
 
Larry Hryb added that the Xbox team have “no clue” what Respawn Entertainment will be showing. It seems that all Respawn told Microsoft, “we are showcasing the future of Titanfall”.
