This is just a dumb thing bugging me. I was at a deli today that has free Wifi. I noticed another company called First Bank that was broadcasting a Wifi signal encrypted with WEP.

I can't fathom how any financial company can be broadcasting with the old encryption standard. WTF. Has anybody heard of Aircrack? A teenager could probably figure this out.

It's bugging me because I'm an unemployed college grad with an Associates in Cyber Security and I see a security hole. It makes me badly want to be a "Grey Hat" or at least tell them to upgrade.

Maybe you should have gone over there and explained it to them. Then asked for a job.

I have not long known about this easy WEP hacking. I now use WPA2 ( I think)
