For me, Game Pass has already paid for itself this year. There's lots of games that are in between AAA and indie (some people consider anything not AAA to be indie now). I was going to actually buy a game off Steam on sale, then I see that it was on Game Pass PC (Hardspace Shipbreaker).

I get ultimate on sale and I easily get my money's worth out of it.

Honestly, this fall makes me want to keep Game Pass more, knowing there's going to be hardly anything released, it will be nice to have a backlog of games to keep me busy. People need to stop pretending that this is only an MS problem. This fall is going to be one of the slowest for video games I can remember. It wouldn't shock me at all if a big PS game slips too, simply because every game gets delayed. Everyone aims for fall and seemingly every game needs more time.

It is MS's problem. It is their service and the issue isn't just XGS games getting delayed.

The service has been s*** for 5 months. The ratio of indies to AAA is ridiculous. If MS thinks adding For Honour expansion and AC Origins is a boon to the service then they are massively mistaken.

They all are. 2 under 1 million and none over 3 million. These include 2 of Sony's biggest IPs. s***, those numbers were bad back in the PS3/360 era.
I believe Xbox exclusives sell less on PC too. Do you think console games don't appeal to PC gamers? I have no idea since I am not a PC gamer.

I think that once hard line is blurring. While you're always going to have some "master race" types, I think a lot more gamers are playing on both PC and console. You see a lot more indie type games landing on console now. With Game Pass, many games actually have cross save, and of course cross play is becoming almost a common thing now. Fire up Destiny and you see all 3 platforms. Halo is a mix of both.

There's still certain games that are just better on PC, like MS Flight sim with full mod support on PC, but I don't think there are as many "this is a PC game and that is a console game" types of things.

Looks like PS5 exclusive Returnal is headed to PC

Let's do the time warp again.

It looks like PS5 exclusive Returnal may be heading to PC.

Details for Housemarque's BAFTA winning sci-fi roguelike have been spotted on SteamDB, including references to its Tower of Sisyphus DLC, Selene's ship Helios, and the alien planet of Atropos.

Returnal would follow the likes of God of War earlier this year, as well as Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn as previous console exclusives arriving on PC.

Indeed, as stated in yesterday's investors presentation by exec Jim Ryan, Sony expects to make $300m on PC games this year.

Looks like Returnal could be next to add to that figure. After all, Housemarque is now a first party studio.

There's no further information, or a release date. One big question: how will the PS5's DualSense features transfer over?

Returnal will also be available on Sony's PS Plus subscription service - it's the most recent PS5 exclusive, except the Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut.

Housemarque boss Ilari Kuittinen told Eurogamer he hopes the game will reach a new audience on PS Plus.

Pc gamers do like “console” games. But pc gamers are also spoiled for games choices. MMO, adventure games, moba, Pc only competitive shooter like CS go, volarant. ARPGs , RTS, stretegy games like crusader kings, all kinds of sims etc. mobile emulator( allow mobiles game to be played on pc) , classic games emulators. Not to mention all the crazy mods you can try on popular games like Skyrim and GTA.

I think the issues with AAA games are they are so expensive to make, take so much time, and in a gaming market that is Shinking in market share, the volume is taking a hit. You can count the number of AAA game with 2 hands and feet a year nowadays.

The sad truth is , making MTX and virtual power booster is more profit/ man hours than making new levels

Also I don’t understand why many studios do not reuse asset.

If you made said London, why not have many games that take place using same asset?

Why the Witcher world or AC worlds cannot be reuse for many other games. Imagine the amount of work saved?

I just got a new laptop. Gamepass for PC is even better than console.

Also, one thing I have to give MS a ton of credit for is their streaming service. Playing from the Cloud is pretty damn impressive now. They've improved that so much in the past year. It's kind of crazy and being overlooked.
Congrats 🎉 What laptop did you get?

Asus Ryzen 9 Radeon GPU 6700S

I just wanted something to play my Steam 60+games on.
ButI tested some Xbox games. It runs Forza 5 at 96 fps at 1600P and (mostly) ultra settings. So not bad for me.
$2000???

What is going on with Atomic Heart? Is that game still coming out?
Russian devs, so who knows what impact the war and subsequent sanctions have had on them. One of their devs was posting against the war a couple of months ago, so they seem to still be active in some regard.
