In today's "If Microsoft did it..."

Honest question, if MS announced a Gears remaster and charged $70 for it, would the internet be in full on meltdown mode? (yes they would)

Didn't they do that already last gen? They had that Gears of War Ultimate Edition or something that was a Gears 1 remaster. Think it was full price on release too at $60

It was $40

Not that it matters since most of the discussion around TLOU Remake is "why the hell is this $70"

It's the way Sony always have done it, just like all the next gen upgrades they wanted people to pay for.
I honestly don't get it though, if people get upset about it being full priced and not being a real "remaster", just buy the cheap last gen remaster instead?

I have a huge backlog of podcasts episodes.... what happened?

Bit unknown really but he's left and gone solo and GB have a new team.

My guess is the owners weren't happy with the direction GB took over the last year.
Or Jeff really wanted it after the Nextlander crew left but he didn't even get a goodbye podcast.

I don't mind them when they are the right games, but this whole lets remaster this game multiple times trend isn't good.
The original remaster really only happened because the PS3 version released like 5 months before the PS4 launched and the PS4 wasn't backwards compatible, I'm glad they did that remaster though because I originally tried the game on PS3 and got bored with it, I didn't give it a fair shot. I played the remaster and after getting further into the game as many suggested it ended up being one of my favorite games of all time. I'm looking forward to the remake, I wanted a version of the original game that looks at least as good as TLOU2 and now I'll have it.

I don't get why some get upset about it though they aren't being forced to buy it, it's also a full remake not a remaster so I can see why it's full price although it would have been a very nice gesture to have it reduced to $50 or something. It's missing the MP portion of the original but it does include the single player DLC that cost $10 at the time it was released I believe.

But they did it, and now did it again.

Nobody is upset, they just don't like it.

The big issue with TLOU is the rip-off price.

I've seen plenty of people mad about them doing it, asking if it needed to be done as if something else would have come out in its place etc.

I don't see it as a rip-off price, I paid full price for Demon's Souls remake and it was well worth it to me as well, this is basically the same thing. It would have been nice to be cheaper, but people are free to not buy it or wait for it to go on sale at some point. There are going to be people who never played the game especially when it releases on PC as well as PlayStation 5 owners who never played it before. If this were just another remaster I'd agree $70 is too much but it's completely rebuilt, I don't mind paying if the work was done.
