PlayStation Games Are Inevitably Coming To PC, Says Sony - Sorry Not Sorry - UPDATE PlayStation PC Launcher

So, completely off the books for the unforeseeable future, end of days, before judgement, the whimper of the universe m, and or ever ever? Like most devs say “never say never”

We did both leave a comment rather open, indefinitely….

oh, how bout if it’s ps4 ports on pc but of new game releases? I’m sure it’d be easier to port horizon 2 on ps4 to pc than it would be to port the ps5 version. Let that port be uncapped fps and whatever else that couldn’t be ironed out on ps4/pro

you think horizon 2 may get a pc release much sooner?

I’m guessing it’s still using the same engine with tweaks and lessons they and Kojima Studios learned from their ports.

But in all honesty I believe all first party titles should be released on console first, at least for a few months. Not to give a dedicated launch window, on console, but to let the devs have a working/more-stable port

Nah. At least a couple years if not next gen.

Sony milking their last gen games on the PC. Wonder why they aren't releasing the Nathan Drake trilogy first though, makes more sense that way.

So Sony will have no true first party exclusives as a rule? Also, if building games for outdated PCs is part of their plan then I really wonder how they will leverage their console to the fullest.

well they’re still doing crossgen with games like horizon, hopefully the third title will be ps5 console generation exclusive

Sounds like it's just last gen first party exclusives which is what they've been doing so far.

I will be really surprised if they start doing day 1 releases on PC simultaneously for future upcoming first party exclusives.

The IR presentation still shows the PS5 console as their top priority and everything else as growth revenue to supplement it.

Bringing all of their games to PC is the slippery slope they are on. Next it will be a one off as a special occasion just to see market reception.

To get to a billion users a closed console is not going to get Sony there. And neither will holding back first party releases for a substantial amount of time. Sony and Xbox are basically the same now and the MS platform (windows) is getting everything.

I mean HZD on PC net a 250% ROI so I'm sure Sony sees those dollar signs and value.

So it appears they are slowly bringing more of their "most iconic first party games" to the PC for that juicy revenue.

Thankfully only jackasses think this as Sony has shown no such signs of this and has actually said the opposite.

Sony shouldn’t be anchoring itself to old tech. Make an amazing console built around new experiences instead. Hopefully they wait years for PCs to catch up hardware wise but that doesn’t sound likely.

  • Really?

Slowly but surely the time gap will close

Yeah, I will keep waiting until Sony announces it over some "Xbox centric gamer's" thoughts.

I still see Sony making PS5 exclusive games this gen and then porting them over to PC later if anything.

I'm surprised its not already on there. Hasn't really seemed to be any rhyme or reason to what they have put on PC so far.

No signs of anything closing.
Old games are releasing nothing more.

Are you mfers that blind?

Show me a single SONY made PS5 game on the PC or announced for it.

Sony had no issues putting PS4 games on PC during the PS4 era. Now Sony confirmed that not only do they plan to do it again during the PS5 era with PS5 games, but sooner and more often.

That is a win win for gamers. Nothing negative about it.

Yeah nothing
If you have nothing to show don't bother.

I wouldn't doubt that they may release their games sooner but some xbot on twitter saying it doesn't really make it so.

I can confidently say that every Sony first party PS5 game will come to PC sometime between day zero and never.

I've played some PS1 titles (mostly resident evil games) on Android phones on emulation... It's fun, I'm into it, but I think most gamers prefers console/pc, the mobile generation of gamers play s***ty microtransaction games no?

Ye, microtransaction games mostly.

One of the reasons why that author also thinks AAA console IP's won't be as successful on mobile.

Yeah console games just aren't built to be played on a screen that doubles as the controller. You need real buttons and sticks etc and even the biggest phones have screens that are too small to really enjoy the game IMO. I have played the mobile versions of MKX Injustice 2 but those were designed for a phone. I'll admit I only played them because they unlocked things in the console games but they could be somewhat addicting for a short time.
